That’s a bit harsh, CP. He is in business you know and he’s never going to tell those that pay the bills - via TV interviews or whatever - that their horse is duff or has no chance.
 
Nice enough from Chacun Pour Soi, I actually think he is the Champion Chase winner of 2021.

He will need to be better & fitter come March, but I'm not sure what will beat him if he gets there in one piece. Put The Kettle On may be the one to give him most to do.

So glad to see Cash Back and Djingle up from their respective falls, the former's being horrific to the eye!

Nicky voiced his concerns a week ago about not wanting a repeat of last season Ascot race when both Altior and Cyrname suffered unexpected defeats afterwards.

Neither he or the owners are short of a few quid so if thing are not 100% right for the horse he can afford pull him out without hesitation

The Tingle Creek means very little to them in comparison to winning the QMCC and Nicky clearly decided if Altior gets into a scrap and he is not as fit as he thinks he is he could leave his race at Sandown

If anyone thinks that's rubbish go ask Ruby Walsh if he would run Kauto Star again at Ascot 6 weeks before he ran no sort of race and was beaten by Denman
Or ask PN if he would still have run Cyrname against Altior before the King George..

Ay, that's probably the nub of it, Fist. The horse was fit enough for a prep race, but not enough to take on top 2 milers in what could (and seemingly, did) turn into a slog.
 
We all agree with that. But that's not the problem though is it. The problem is the bullshit he spouted all week when he was putting punters away.

Then don't enter him; or if you do make people aware that he won't run unless the forecast is wrong.
 
De Bromheads confirmed Put The Kettle on will be over for the Desert Orchid chase. Easier than facing Politologue though? For Altior that is.

If Put The Kettle on gets pumped, i reckon she’ll be going to the Mares Chase

At least De Bromhead has given Nicky advanced warning to pull him. She'll jump him silly. There's no hill to catch up when he hits his flat spot.

This time Nicky will be saying he'll only run if it's good to firm. :lol:

And Nicholls has confirmed that the Matchbook Clarence House Chase is the target for Politologue, its as if they know Hendo's a dithering coward and they're ganging up in advance... Altior will end up going to Liverpool!
 
Nicholls really surprises me there and is proof, were it required that trainers talk utter shite most of the time.

He was banging on all pre season about how he's finally sussed how to train Politologue and that he's realized he's better fresh so it would be Tingle Creek and then QMCC, same as last year

Now he's targeting the Clarence House. Okay it's 7 weeks until the QMCC but even still.

If you offered Nichollsthe choice of winning the trainers championship or the QMCC, which would he prefer.

Put The Kettle On looks set to face off against Chacun this Christmas instead.

Min as well by the sounds of Ruby on the show with Lydia Hislop yesterday.
 
PTKO can't travel here and will be ready to race. I'd imagine this won't suit Willie for Chacun to possibly have a hard race at this time of the season, when he'd have been expecting a penalty kick.
