On a break
a speed figure of 118 is about on par for an average Guineas winner...so just on the clock nothing special...but they did dawdle a little early on....so would not expect a big clocking
I'd sooner judge Ravens Pass on Craven, Ibn Khaldoun on RP Trophy thats for sure ECOriginally posted by EC1@May 3 2008, 05:20 PM
i'm not sure I would want to judge too many horses on todays race Charlie
Fine, it was a good run - but it doesn't change my point that if you think you can *win the race with something else*, why not run Plan in something a little less competitive and give him a chance of winning again rather than having a hard Group 1? Horses win more when they build up confidence! - and hard races leave their mark esp at that stage of a career. I grant he may have been showing much more on the gallops than we'd seen so farOriginally posted by Galileo@May 3 2008, 04:02 PM
Fantastic race, two very good colts pulling nicely clear. And Ballydoyle have no good three year olds eh? Your theory about Plan was clearly wrong Headstrong, clearly they felt he had the right to turn up - and as Sheikh said he showed plenty of promise for a horse that will be best at 10 furlongs.
Pretty well agree with that -0.67. On the slower side of Good, likely to be on the quicker side of good tomorrow if the rain stays awayOriginally posted by EC1@May 3 2008, 05:35 PM
indeed
the ground was surely against RP though...I got it at just into G/S which is a little to do with the wind admittedly ..but the ground was on the wrong side of Good for RP for sure.

I wouldnt put anyone off backing Henrythenavigator for the guineas. I think he will prove to be Ballydoyles No. 1 in time, and think that he is a good back to lay come the day...without trying to rhyme...
Worth a few bob at 42s.
Of course I didn't.Originally posted by Bar the Bull@Mar 18 2008, 11:33 AM
I have been meaning to back him for a while. Think a score each way might be the order of the day.
