2016 Gold Cuppin

Almost a brilliant race and would have been if CC hadn't fallen. That settles some arguments, I reckon.

Don Cossack must be a genuinely top class horse. I was just annoyed at how well O'F's Boy and Irish Cavalier ran as I lost money on them in vastly easier races this season.

Cue card looks ok - he was looking like the winner - not quite sure why Brennan did not wait longer .

fences there to be jumped...don didn't deserve to win the king george because he fell so same standards have to be applied

Smad Place was never going to stay the distance in that company, and could have grabbed a place in the Ryanair. Heido-ho, there's always next year for the Ryanair I guess.

this was the trip don wanted all along...look at videos of his previous wins and they will tell you that he doesn't need to be cruising 3 out. think he'd have outstayed CC either way but it's irrelevant now

Did Brennan rush him into the fence a little too much? I really like him as a jockey but was just initial impression

pity of it is that we will never know. Can't see cc being at his best at 11.

but main thing is he's fine.

He was going best - of course he might not have got up the hill but he was still looking the most likely winner - your aggressive postings are very tedious.

i have made no aggressive posting..i passed an opinion Ardross..you want to face some of the sh1te i do on here

i backed SC the year he fell..going the same..when he had a chance to win it another year..he stopped as though shot after the last..there is no way anyone can say if a horse will stay up that hill until he runs it..going well 3 out means nothing in this race..way too far out

thats not aggressive..its fair comment re what this race is..it don't finish at 3 out..it just starts

i was watching race and did not believe he was looking the most likely winner because Don was just ticking along like he did at Punchestown last year and...in my opinion...like he was at Kempton. Cue Card going well no doubt but if you've studied don cossack then you have to concede there is room for disagreement there

that said, agree with clive about the way in which Brennan rode him into the fence. did he think he needed to take a length or two out of them there? makes me wonder about what was really left in the tank but hey...that's the game

Cue Card would have needed to have been travelling that well at that stage to have had any chance of staying. Don Cossack for all his talent does race a touch lazily. Helps him get home. Don Poli is a slow old boat unfortunately. Different ground might see him have a shot at a Gold Cup. Can't tell with Cue Card, just as if Vautour was in that position (as I expect that he would have been), that you still couldnt say that he would definitely got home.

Well the fear was lived by the winner. Knocking good horse.
Well done Djak boy. Ruddy bollocks and more bollocks.

Glad Cue Card Ok.

Thank God Vautour went for the Ryanair because I'd probably have backed him in this rather than Don Cossack. Fantastic win for me as it completes my 34/1 acca for a very healthy profit.

Don Poli was everything I thought he was. Had to have a side bet on Cue Card who was looking awfully good before he came down.

Cue Card, Coneygree, Djakdam, Vautour, Don Cossack, & Thistlecrack all lining up next year. The mouth waters.

no way can anyone know that without facing the hill..thats fanciful at best..look at what the hill did to SC

True but the feeling I got was that he was absolutely tanking and he breezed past Djakadam and Don Cossack. I think he'd have gone clear and would have taken some catching.

I do feel Paddy got a bit excited, should have sat in and waited but that's racing. He's ridden a few more winners than I have.

I tell what pisses me off. The results reading and the stewards.

They have don poli as third but that's rubbish.

He's got another circuit to go

clive!

you called that one right to be fair...even if he did somehow finish third

what about long range each way double for next year. the new one for world hurdle and poli for the national
