A Great Weekend in Dublin

Looking forward the meet up. I must book the days off tomorrow. I presume An Capall will be giving a lift to those of us from the better half of Dublin? If only to discuss the bumper winner.

God willing G - I am at yer service. I'll be able to take 4 passengers, 3 if you are all incredibly overweight.

If anybody needs a lift from the East Meath/Drogheda area I'm happy to oblige.

I'm running a bus service anyway; a Nissan Micra to be more precise, but what the hell!

Ditto from Leopardstown. I didn't kill Grey the last time but that's not to say he would recommend travelling with me. Happy to pick people up from the airport too if they are flying in on Sat morning.

Grey, it looks like I'll struggle I'm afraid. I'll very much struggle to get anyone to look after the horse and I'll be needed to ride out too. Sorry. :o

If your trying to break my heart dom, it's working. I'll be crying on An Capall's shoulder for the day....

It's madly tempting - esp as I live so close to Stansted and there must be cheap flights.
I've never been to an Irish jumps meeting, it's something everyone should do before they die I guess

Now if I could only get someone to PAY ME ........

There is still time for others to get involved, and I hope some do, but at the end of next week any remaining places will go on offer to outside parties.

Dom, I've removed you from the list. I'll be crying on Gearoid's shoulder for the day. In fact I anticipate an entire circle of people crying on each other's shoulder.

Flagship, a place will be kept open for you unless you're already sure you won't be able to take time off from the studying. It might do you good to get your mind off it for a while.

Sunybay, when do you get to Dublin? Are you available to meet up on Saturday night?

Headstrong, and anyone else, if you decide to come over to Ireland you will be most welcome. Locals are also more than welcome, of course, but nobody's going to be paying any of you!

The current list:

Galileo
An Capall
Flagship Uberalles (?)
Arkwright (?)
Gearoid
Betsmate
Flame
Rorydelargy
Trackside
Del Boy
Sunybay (Leopardstown only)
Grey

We'll need to know what parts of the weekend people are around for so that numbers can be notified to both racecourses, the restaurant and Krystle night club (Ireland's night club of the year in 2007 and 2008 has kindly offered some free passes), and lifts arranged:

Transport to Navan
Admission to Navan Races
Transport to Dublin
Winding Stair
Krystle
Admission to Leopardstown (I still need to find out what rate they will offer us for reserved seats but they'll be worth it)

I myself will be away from 19-23 January, so we should try to get things nailed down before that.

Having to sort out new accomodation in Brighton in January so unable to make it. Will watch on eagerly on TV.

Is there a bumper that day?

Who needs Shadow when we are going to Krystle. The pic below is of the late model Katy French's birthday bash in Krystle (she's in the middle). It's where all the nice people of Dublin go!!

Scary you mention her Cantoris. Was talking (and drinking heavily) with a friend from the North when the topic of conversation somehow ended up on her and the Podge and Rodge Show.

Yeah a terrible waste of a life. but I'm sure we will find someone as good looking as her in Krystle.

Grey,

Thanks for keeping a place open for me, but I really won't be able to make it now.

Would be very interested in something similar in future, perhaps Irish Henessey or Punchestown?

I would very much appreciate a lift to Navan on Saturday if there's one on offer. I get into the airport at 9am, which is probably a bit early, so I'm happy to get to a pick-up point somewhere?

I'm in Dublin until 8pm Sunday, so put me down for one of everything on that list Grey. Thanks.

Betsmate

I sounds like Cantoris and I are coming from the same part of town. It may be a suggestion that you take AIRCOACH to Bewleys hotel at Leopardstown and I or Cantoris can pick you up there. Lets see how the attendence develops through the next couple of weeks and we'll nail things down then. We won't leave you stuck.

The airport is on the same side as city as racecourse so no point coming southside to go northside again. Anyway, the aircoach takes an hour to ger over to Leopardstown. I'll collect you from the airport. You can have a coffee and will be out at 9.30 or your flight might be delayed a little. Can sort out nearer the date but assume that I'll collect you from airport. I'm used to getting up on Sat mornings early for stable visits.

I'll be looking for a lift from Blackrock on the Saturday morning.

Cantoris's driving was well up to scratch the last day when we went for a visit to Colm Murphy's yard. Mind you, we went half way into a ditch when reversing through a gateway but he got us out of it very calmly.

After I shrieked at him.

Flame and Rory, what time do you land in Dublin? Whoever's picking up Betsmate might be able to collect all three.

Flagship, you have a passable excuse, I have to admit. I'm sure there'll be some forumites at Leopardstown for the Irish Hennessy.

Well who puts a ditch in a gateway anyway!!! And I think of the shriek as more of a gentle reminder as the car rolled in!!

If I go (which I would say is more likely than not) then I would envisage I'd be arriving at the airport at about 9am'ish.

I would imagine I'll have made my mind up within the next week to ten days.

This seems likely to be a great weekend . Really wish I could go. Some impressive organisation. Have a good craic.
