Aintree

True. But when he cracks will it be a Texas Mcdonalds mass slaughter job or will the 5.15 from edinburgh to london be delayed whilst they scrape up the pieces?

Silviniaco Conti is probably the banker of the meeting for most serious punters. No airs and graces about him he's a straightforward solid horse who you can trust to run a good race.

First Lieutenant could be fancied but he just keeps finding one too good for him. 2nd to Cue Card, Tidal bay and Bobsworth twice since winning the Neptune is all good form but he's become a bit of a consistent loser and he's not a horse you could possibly back with any great confidence.

Cape Tribulation could run really well here he's a very good horse and a few of these have no chance.......Cracking bet on the place market at odds against.

I took a look at the Bowl earlier, and it's hard to get away from SC alright.

There's just something about him that makes me hesitate. Dunno what it is - I just can't take to him as a chaser. I wasn't hugely impressed with any of the Charlie Hall, Betfair or Denman victories, reckoning he outclassed them at Wetherby, benefited from a particularly inept ride from the jockey of the second at Haydock, and whilst it would be churlish to crab his Newbury form too much, he had a hard-enough race that day in deep ground.

Coming into the race on the back of a fall, I couldn't be taking a short-price about him, but can see why others with a more upbeat view of his form (as can readily be argued) would see him as a cert in amongst this lot.

For sheer honest endeavour, I'd quite like to see The Giant Bolster win, but he's a bit of a no-mans-land merchant, and I've drawn no inspiration from the remainder. Slim has a fair price about Wayward Prince but the horse is a double-squiggler, yak, klepto bast*rd, and could quite easily tail himself off after a half-mile.

If I bet at all, I'll reverse the jolly with TGB.

For some reason i find menorah fascinating taking on these staying trips i really fancied him in the denman in an each way double with swing bowler that day,I know it wasnt the greatest 3rd placed finish but hobbs has sureley seen something to make him persevere,Plus dont forget he put a below par cheltenham run behind him at this meeting last year when walloping al ferof and cristal bonus in the 2 1/2 mile novice chase. Im not saying he will win as the fav seems very strong but 16/1 is an insult and 3.9 to place on the machine is great value.

I am going to back Oscar Whisky-the race has a tradition of repeat winners And he obviously comes alive at Aintree.Maybe The New One will be too good for him but I wouldn't be worried about the others.

Betfred/Totesport are 1/4 odds 1,2,3 in the Betfred Bowl. I can't help myself backing Wayward Prince e/w @ 66/1 given how good the place part of the bet is. I've stuck it in two horrifically bad e/w Lucky 15's too.

Half the bet is mine. The other lad is ramping the bet big time on Twitter.

I think TNO might be a place lay tomorrow. This opposition is a couple of steps above what he's faced so far.

Backed Jetson ew for quite a sum at Cheltenham. Not too impressed by the ride. AP up tomorrow, hopefully he flies this time. Also like Astracad at Aintree, seems to like the track. Got some early 14's and also in double with Jetson. Kid Cassidy is an almighty danger and have more than a saver on that. Gone with Warne on Martin's sound advice, he looks pretty good. The final one so far is Countrywide Flame who hasn't disappointed me to date though stakes are somewhat reduced because I fear Granduet. all 4 in a yankee.

Silvinaco Conti looks a good thing in the Bowl but I rarely bet at that price level. Big leap for the Cape but more in his favour this time. Limited to one day and will be giving tickets for the Friday away to a forum member. Still will enjoy the day and be happy to meet up with any forumites.

I'm with Irish Saint, Grandouet and Fago today.

Most interested in Fago who will have that extra bit of time at his fences over this longer trip. No doubt I'll feel like a sap if he doesn't complete, but given he's from the chasing masters yard I'll give him another chance.

I heard grandouet was a bit of a lad aswel.....
That rumour started after the Champion Hurdle when some filly heard the back end of a discussion between Hurricane Fly and Grandouet. Hurricane Fly asked him .."Fancy a nibble of grass did you" all the filly heard was Gradouet saying F*** You" and she thought "Must be gay"
