Barney Curley

Get off this thread if you want to talk about tax and expenses, you bunch of boring fishwives.

Good point well made, Art.

Nobody in their right mind wants to be a fishwife, so I retract all previous comments re tax, and will instead settle for "Barney, you're alright by me, pal".

Pretty spot on although K2 and EFRB schemes are still hard for revenue to break. Theres still a market for them

Amazons "arrangements" as well as other corps are not entirely at the behest of the UK government but exploited by the very fact that there is poor tax harmonisation across the EU ....for starters

There has been no "cheating", Digger - just a patient plot, perfectly executed by shrewdies.

This extracurricular is much more interesting.

They were not cheating yesterday
They cheat on previous outings

Otherwise the man is Master to make this plot and hit the bookies in that way.

How big a genius do you need to be to land four winners at gaff, midweek meetings, when traders aren't paying attention?

Was there cheating on previous runs? Maybe there was, but given connections reputation, even an indirect involvement in the horses concerned, should have had traders on their toes.

He's had the bookies drawers down, because the meetings of the day were innocuous in the extreme, and most compilers were looking out the font-door, as he was coming in the back window.

If there is a 'victim' in this, then it's mainly restricted to those playing at shitty midweek meetings at shitty tracks featuring shitty horses. I have zero sympathy for such types, given it's established fact that this is exactly the type of racing open most to skullduggery in the first place.

Hot water can scald......so don't put your hand in it.

Bookmakers bang on about the integrity of the sport whenever a gamble is landed. Where is their integrity when it comes to FOBT's and paying tax?

The question is whether there is any evidence they did not run on their merits in the earlier runs .

If so , then there are questions to answer. If not and they have simply taken advantage of free falling handicap marks by running them in what was akin to banded racing then it was a cleverly executed gamble and no more than that.

Bookmakers only have themselves to blame for this sort of " coup " the fostering of the dire AW racing that the three least likely on form winners ran in makes this much easier .

Come on guys,own up;)

Another former Curley runner tomorrow after long lay-off...Kassiodor 2:50 Kempton 3/1f after 824 days off

How did they manage to get a pic of him smiling?

There was a decent and fair feature in the Economist a couple of weeks back. Interesting his motivations but not one i could suscribe too

Looks like something funny going on in the 1.40 at Southwell today. Feeltherhythm backed in from 6/1-7/4, trained by Des Donovan his former assistant who was the trainer of the infamous coup horses and Curley's jockey Shane Kelly booked to ride. Horse withdrawn whilst 9-4 on Betfair. Money for Kelly's other rides at Kempton later, Seven Summits (5.25), Miss Phillyjinks (5.55) and Highwayman (7.55).

Its a setup to take profit on Cash Out! The Racing Post really are a shambles and the editor should be shot. Constantly announced as a major gamble therefore encouraging mug punters to lump on...in the mean time the guys that started the rumour cash out for profit and they all trail home. Its a joke of a publication more concerned with people trying to pull their helmets off over pictures of Victoria Pendelton.
