Betfair Hurdle

RP confirms Renneti not declared so weights go up 5lb. Other defectors CdT Krugermac and Kapstadt

Maximum 16 runners so doubt Skybet will go 6 places but may go 5 if all 16 run

Lets just hope there are no N/R's, so that the vast majority of betting shop punters get 1/4 the odds the first four.

As for the race, wouldn't surprise me if Song Light, Clyne, or William Bonney won. But I had a score e/w on Eddiemaurice at big prices. I just couldn't resist. The betting is underrating him because he comes from a small stable, imho. I'm expecting he's ridden quietly out the back and I'd be delighted if he could finish fast and grab a place. Stronger pace might actually suit. Either a very bad bet or quite clever, I guess.

Skybet appear to have 2 markets at present. Veinard is 25/1 with Skybet via oddschecker - normal ante post rules apply. However, if you go directly to Skybet it's a non runner money back market, but Veinard is only 14/1 here. Both markets currently offering 4 places.

Is Veinard your main fancy, Double? I wonder if he can approve to win this, he'd have to be on my shortlist (of about 6 horses!) that should run well.

At he moment I have 2 against the field marble, Veinard 25/1 & De name escapes 20/1. Both each way 4 places and I'm equally invested in both. Veinard seemed to travel so well in the coral h'cap hurdle at Leopardstown last month. I thought it an extremely eye catching ride. Jack Kennedy confirmed on him for Saturday and it looks like he is over in the UK for that one and only ride. Jack would likely have had at least 5 rides at Naas on Sat if he stayed at home. One of them a decent listed race. So I view him being jocked up as a further positive.

Yet another JP horse from Seven Barrows withdrawn at the last minute despite the word was working well....keep em coming your reputation is beginning to suck

What little reputation they had was surely already sucked dry with the Binocular Champion Hurdle fiasco.

Don't know if you've watched the run before that but it was a carbon copy. Traveling the best but found little.
As an 8 year old I'd be surprised if the handicapper hasn't already got a pretty firm grip on him.

Yeah, my 3 against the field are William H Bonney. Zubayr & Song Light

Dont think anything in the race will travel better than Song Light so could be a good trade bet @ 16-1. Wouldn't it be great for a small trainer like Seamus Mullins to put the big boys to the sword.

Zubayr is well treated but has to improve his jumping. Was only 11-2 to win at Festival last year, so can see why the current 14-1 will appeal.

William H Bonney is the improver in the race and will be very effective if soft ground and 9-1 looks fair.

All three have made the cut.

Current best odds of: 11-1 [Song & Zubayr] & 9-1 [William]

Henderson in his blog; "I like the horse that Barry Geraghty rides, Movewiththetimes because he was always going to partner this one for JP before we even had to take out Consul De Thaix, so that tells you enough."

Pricewise is on

Beltor & De Name Escapes Me

Aye, Pricewise to the rescue! I was just having my 24th look at the race...... Beltor is the one I've probably been overlooking.

I've thrown away my e/w docket on Eddiemaurice as he's drifted to rank outsider. :)

Will be backing Beltor to save the day now.

Fairly happy with my position now. Veinard now 10/1 and De Name Escapes me sure to tighten up now Pricewise has selected him.
William H Bonney the only other I'm considering adding into the mix. 12/1 seems fair, but I'll hold off until tomorrow to see if he drifts a touch.

Tells enough for me, certainly. Will save on Song Light ew.

I also went for MWTT after reading Henderson's blog. You could make some sort of case for 90% of the field, so happy to go with McManus's #1 after Winter Escape wasn't dec'd.

If any runners pull out of current field of sixteen,Betfair Sportsbook paying each way first four down to thirteen runners .

Those two had absolutely miles in hand. Twister finally realising that something needs to set a strong test for Ballyandy.

miles in hand? they were both all out to win it, they gave it all. Also I failed to notice Clyne being trained by NTD in the declarations.

Yes but miles? left him for dead? come on, he was still giving them 8lbs and at the last were 4 lengths in front, at the finish line they were 6l ahead, they didn't had that much to give at the end. Clyne was also up there with the pace and his jockey went for home way too soon leaving nothing for the end. The tempo was all wrong, look where the other front runners finished, Boite & Ballyhill.
