Champion Hurdle 2013

Interesting that. Do we know how it compared to Supreme?

i've only hand timed both in real time at the moment..but i got the supreme a second slower to the 3rd hurdle

i'll get em both on the software later and post up some figures

Champion was a proper pace ..not too fast as can be the case in some of the past ones like Sublimity's...a brilliant ride by Fehily..brilliant clock in his head

Can't argue with that. Ruby was very good when he just couldn't go the pace. They are making far more use of him in Ireland these days so maybe he's just lost and edge of speed but he stays very well and he jumps. ROR lost nothing in defeat having done all the hard work in front.

He was very good. Comfortably the best Champion Hurdler since Istabraq.

Even though I had Hurricane Fly in every e/w double for the week, I had also backed Grandouet e/w and thought he was going extremely well before he fell and to avoid controversy I will say I thought he would finish in the first 2!

Well done to the Hurricane Fly fanclub, he has some record now.

Such a contrast to watching him lord it through races back home. Add toughness to undoubted class and you have one of the greats.
