Cheltenham 2016

Skybet boosting the price on Jonjo to have a 2016 festival winner to 5/2 until 13.00

Looks a gift if you can get on, as I'd price him up long odds on (he's only had a blank twice since 2002)

That's a reasonable price
And you can get payed twice when Box Office wins the Pertemps :ninja:

ANNACOTTY
could bid to become the fourth horse to win the Paddy Power Gold Cup and Caspian Caviar Gold Cup in the same season after appearing among the entries for the Grade 3 handicap chase at Cheltenham next month.

The first six home in the Paddy Power featured in a 41-strong entry on Wednesday and should the Alan King-trained seven-year-old make the line-up he will seek to emulate a feat most recently achieved by Exotic Dancer in 2006.
Paul Nicholls, who has won three of the last six runnings, has six entries, including Sound Investment and Art Mauresque, third and sixth in the Paddy Power respectively, while fourth-placed Double Ross is in the reckoning for a race he captured two years ago.
Dennis dreaming
Novices have a decent recent record in the £100,000 contest, which will be run on December 12, and trainer David Dennis is contemplating a crack with Doctor Phoenix, who won the graduation chase on the first day of Haydock’s Betfair Chase meeting.
"He is only a novice and it might be a big ask, but the ground is a key factor because he handles soft ground very well," the trainer said.
"If Cheltenham were to come up soft, I wanted the option. He has come out Haydock very well. He is a big horse and not one I want to run too many times, but he appears to be in good order."
Willie Mullins accounts for half of the eight Irish-trained entries with his quartet led by Valseur Lido and Gitane Du Berlais, both Grade 1 scorers over fences last season.

how much would all active TH members have to put in to make it " The Talking Horses Cheltenham Gold Cup " ?

Would they give us a balcony box for the day ?

Who would be thrown out first after me ?

At a guess, about 10% of the pot, perhaps less

The Glenfarclas Cross Country chase will be run at 2.20 on Friday (earlier than as shown on online cards) and will be one of four C4 races.

Nicky Henderson-trained trio Hargam, Peace And Co and Top Notch are among 11 entries for Saturday's International Hurdle at Cheltenham.
Greatwood Hurdle winner Old Guard and Sempre Medici for Willie Mullins also in the mix for the Grade 2 contest.
Saturday's JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial and the Grade 2 Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle on the same card were reopened on Monday after failing to attract ten entries.

New sponsor found for the Gold Cup for four years.

Timico, who is an independent internet service provider in the United Kingdom, supplying a range of business IP and communications services.

The Cheltenham Gold Cup will be run in March for record prize-money after Timico Technology Group stepped in as the new sponsor of the Festival showpiece in a four-year deal.

The Gold Cup required a new backer after it emerged that Betfred, who had previously sponsored the race, would not be able to continue its support under the new Authorised Betting Partner scheme.
Timico picked up the sponsorship, providing an immediate prize money boost of £25,000 meaning the 2016 renewal will be worth £575,000 when it is run as the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Timico, started in 2004 by chief executive officer Tim Radford, is an independent information and communications technology service provider, offering a range of network connectivity, cloud, unified communication, managed IT and mobile solutions.
Its clients include Travis Perkins, World Gold Council, The Restaurant Group plc, Goodwood, Greene King plc, Jimmy Choo, The National Trust and The Savoy Hotel.
Based in Newark, Nottinghamshire, and with offices in London, Milton Keynes, Reading and Fareham, the telecoms business employs more than 400 people and plans to use sponsorship of the Gold Cup to further build its reputation ahead of a projected stock market flotation in 2017.
Radford, who currently has 12 horses in training, has been associated with top chasers Somersby, Calgary Bay and Racing Demon.
He said: "We're thrilled to have been chosen as the new sponsors of the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
"As an ambitious business working in a fast-paced industry, we were quick to recognise the tremendous opportunity of partnering with The Jockey Club to be part of one of the country's most prestigious events.
"Technology is now the lifeblood of every organisation, large and small. We're passionate about delivering our clients the high quality ICT infrastructure they need to stay connected and stand out from the crowd. In turn, we're very excited about this unique partnership helping us connect with a far wider audience on a global scale."
Ian Renton, Regional Director of Jockey Club Racecourses South West, added: "I am delighted that we are able today to announce Timico's involvement in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
"We're delighted to work with a partner who is so keen to use the national platform the Cheltenham Gold Cup offers to become much more widely known as part of the next stage of their growth strategy and I very much look forward to working with them to ensure that their sponsorship of the Gold Cup proves hugely rewarding.
"It is rare that a sponsorship opportunity as prestigious as the Cheltenham Gold Cup becomes available and, in the short window offered, there have been a number of different organisations that have expressed an interest in this sponsorship.
"I am confident that Timico will prove to be an excellent partner for our flagship race.
"All the team at Cheltenham really look forward to working with Tim Radford and his colleagues at Timico as we anticipate the first running of the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup, the start of a great new partnership between Timico and The Jockey Club."

Skybet now NRNB on the 4 championship races. Earliest ever?

Didn't Ladbrokes go NRNB on the big 4 races after the Newbury Hennessy weekend a few years ago? Seem to remember backing Burton Port in the GC and getting money back

Another bad day at HQ yesterday, talked myself out of backing Pearls Legend, luck is so out at the moment that if i fell into a skip load of tits I'd come out sucking my thumb!

You didn't deserve your money back for that one!

It was after his 2nd in the Hennessy and a good run in the RSA before that (2nd to Weapons Amnesty I think) before he got injured.

But probably a fair point [emoji1]
