Cheltenham Handicaps

I am absolutely gutted. I give up.EMPIRE STEEL has been taken out of the Ultima.thank f*ck for nrnb.
My ew banker of the week.just shows I havent a clue.

I've just snaffled 25/1 Vintage Clouds for the Ultima. Probably vulnerable to an Irish bandit but clear top currently on RPRs (so likely to be among my top-rated for the race) and blue across the board this afternoon.

Did me a good turn last year and I was wondering if R.Mania would be on Empire Steel or Vintage clouds well now I know.

Off 10-06 he can scrape a 160/4 run; off 11-12, Frodon is capable of 171.....

That wouldn't be how I handicap my field but that wasn't the point of the exercise. The point was to get a bit of value onside early. VC is now 16s tops anywhere so I'm happy for now with the bet (NRNB).

I bet you are happy with the hcapper not adding any extra to school boy hours.mate

The Shunter and Phoenix Way were taken out of the Ultima earlier.

School Boys Hours and Belargus (rank outsider) are now the only two JP has left in the race.

Fingers crossed they run School Boy Hours...

It’s a risky proposition backing a non Irish in the County but I was waiting for the Imperial Cup entries to come out today to see if there are any strong candidates for doing the double. Langer Dan is entered again I see but the one that really caught my eye was Anyharminasking of Jonjo’s.

I hadn’t noticed this one mopping up a couple of lower grade handicaps at gaff tracks but f*ck me he was impressive and it isn’t hard to believe the 12lb rise for his last time out win isn’t anywhere near enough.

He beat Constitution Hill in his sole point before fetching 140K+ at the Goffs Punchestown sales in April and Jonjo has clearly taken his time with him because his last two runs are a total contrast to his first three. It looks like a case of getting the necessary runs into him and then getting his mark up to ensure he’d qualify.

Whether or not the County is the aim I’m not sure but with NRNB, at 16/1 I’ve taken the chance. If he runs and wins on Saturday his price will nearly halve.

Neither Anyharminasking or Langer Dan have been declared for the Imperial Cup.

I won't be getting any run for my money on Eclair D'ainay in the Grand Annual then...not confirmed I see.

Jeezo. I tend to go high with the Irish handicap form and, while I did have a '+' beside my figure for Surprise Package today, there was no way I would have anticipated that kind of performance.

I can only assume it has had the handbrake on all season and was plotted up for an attempt at the bonus. He'll probably get into the County now but does he need the ground as soft as it was today?

Between Constitution Hill, Jonbon, Hillcrest and the Coral Cup (not convinced by the Irish at the top of this market except Saint Felicien) I'd put the UK o/u at 1.5 in the hurdle races.

I wouldn't mind a bet on the correct score overall but can't see a market on Oddschecker.

The UK novices look absolutely rancid. Jonbon's 155 is a direct descendant. The game will be up after the Supreme. The UK won't win the County, Coral or Martin Pipe either. Good luck finding 2 winners.

The last price I saw were 1/9 the irish.

Ultima-Lostintranslation

First run in a handicap and has Festival form

Each Way @ 13-1 [Bet 365] 10 places

Have taken the 14/1 about Frodon in the Ultima.

Track form at around 3m is undeniably good, and he won a handicap over this trip on the Old Course of same mark in October 2020. Can see him out-running these odds by a fair old way.

Me really likes Floeur in the Ultima, reckon he’ll be targeting the Irish National though.

Id have been keen on Does He Know if it wasn’t for his Ascot run

I haven't been paying much attention to handicaps as they are usually death traps.

I have looked at the Martin Pipe but that has got me wondering what does everyone else know that I don't.?

This Gaelic Warrior has me bamboozled. Ran only on heavy ground at 3 years of age losing all 3 times.

The races were 20k races but that's not exactly unusual in France.

You stick a WPM after his name and you've got a 9/4 favourite with absolutely
no form lining up against over 20 horses most of which could be anything.

Madness?
