The Catt is a fine thing.

I've seen Persad a few times on Racing UK and didn't think he was that bad. He doesn't take himself too seriously either.

I love CB but with the news that shes going to be presenting a new quiz show as well as taking over Good Morning Sunday, I do fear that the world is going to very soon suffer from Balding Fatigue...

Is that a talk show? She's too officious for that kind of gig. Conversely that's what makes her a good live presenter.

Mrs Spencer surely:<3:

Press release for the announcement:

http://www.channel4.com/info/press/news/channel-4-announces-horseracing-team

Clare Balding and Nick Luck presenting. (good)

Alice Plunkett, Emma Spencer and Rishi Persad doing the interviews (ffs!).

Analysis by (not Aussie) Jim McGrath, Mick Fitzgerald and Graham Cunningham (good addition).

Commentary by Holt and Hoiles (ever excellent both).

Tanya Stevenson doing the betting (meh)

Gina Bryce (from ATR) and Sam Thomas to also feature.

f Emma Spencer is deemed an attractive woman, we might as well give up as a species.

a bit bitchy gamla.... but know what you mean, shes someone who works very hard at being hot and yet.....

the genuinely attractive and "hot' are still that way first thing in morning or lounging around in god knows what. Cant beat a natural.

Im not that keen on Cunningham. Nice bloke for sure but tends to go on a bit

Why not Mellish?

Not sure about Rishi. Surely Emma is only covering the flat racing? She's ok [don't think she's attractive but I've never understood what constitutes an attractive woman as, us ladies can see what's real and what's fake; in the hair and make up department that is]. Pleased that Nick and McGrath are still with them.

Apart from wanting Balding out, plenty of sense in the post... until the last line.

No harm in a bit of eye candy but anyone who takes their racing seriously shouldn't really give a donaldduck about the looks of the presenters. The Beeb got away with it for years with Julian Wilson.

As for Mrs Spencer, I'm afraid she does nothing for me at all (not that I've asked her, you understand) and she'd be OK in the team if she was any good but she's no better than OK at everything she does.

Persad is a total joke. He must have friends in low places. Do the women rate him in the eye-candy stakes?

Plunkett is OK talking about horses but not form. And she passes the no-eye-candy test.

I think the team should be much fewer in number anyway. One presenter. One commentator (per meeting, obviously). One paddock judge and one form guru (and if their talents overlap, fine). And why don't they bring back a results service? That would be a better filler-inner than the incessant waffling and fawning over dicks like Prescott we get.

Emma knows her stuff, maintains a level of cheerfulness that is not excessive, takes care with her appearance and does a useful enough job introducing the day's racing. What more should we reasonably expect? As Eddie (Edgt) points out, C4 coverage is pitched at a wider audience than just us hard core followers of racing. She doesn't deserve the negativity she's getting from some on here.
