Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Telescope, winner of the 2014 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot and runner-up in the same season's King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, has been retired due to injury. Not all bad news though, retired to stud.

Monbeg Dude unlikely to be seen before the 2016 Grand National and even that is not guaranteed, tendon injury not clearing up as quickly as hoped.

Clive Brittain set to retire at the end of the season along with his current stable star Rizeena.

Wonder who will buy the yard which is to be put up for sale - lovely place, I'd imagine there will be a few after it.

I thought this wouldnt be long in coming, best of luck to him in his retirement. I used to follow him blindly late 70, & 80,s.
He trained my favourite ever horse...the great ...Laska Floko

Bleu Superbe, aged 20. Winner of 15 of his 80 races and over £250,000 for Venetia Williams. A very good friend of mine had him in his retirement and he spent a very happy time throughout hunting and leading her children on their ponies. (I was even allowed to ride him out on one occasion!) He will be missed.
