Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Oh no; was listening to it on the radio...wish I hadn't now. Had been worrying about him ever since he came back from injury.
 
Last year's Steward's Cup winner Intrinsic has been retired to stud and Charlie Mann is still in hospital in Swindon after breaking a shoulder, three ribs and suffering a pelvic injury in a schooling accident at his yard on Sunday when a young horse went beserk.

Jamie Snowden's Arkle prospect Val De Law out for the season with a tendon injury. A cruel blow for a relatively small yard.
 
Ollie Magern lost in retirement at 17 to a heart attack.

He did it in the Ryanair, but it's taken until now for this incredibly secretive trainer to announce it to the world. Will make him even more paranoid about running anything at the Festival -- or even "down south", come to that.
 
Absalom's Lady and her long-term companion Mistinguett both euthanised earlier this week after broodmare careers followed by full retirement. The former was 27 and the latter 23.
