Apache Gold returns Killarney tomorrow.
Going should be soft enough with some rain every day this weekend.
Drawn near outside though and trip could be far enough given these are better horses than usual opponents.
The funny thing is these races can be easier won than a 47/65 race as it is less likely to meet on 10 lb well in that wins one race and then disappears for 2 years.
Rory Cleary gets his chance to be the first jockey to win twice on him and monday and wednesday are the two week days Apache has yet to win a race.
Fingers crossed !
 
Cape Hideaway - Has a favourite's chance in the Ayr 5.00 and everything looks right for a big run.

Tomorrow at Thirsk, Percy's Endeavour runs and a watching brief is advised until she shows us something.

Oliver's Gold may run in a flat race but he is 3lb out of the handicap and not sure to run. I still think he's well handicapped but his flat form shows he's not.
 
Airlie Beach goes in the first at Kilbeggan tomorrow. Her first run over hurdles and she should come on for the race but her chance is there for all to see.

Cornborough runs 2.15 Market Rasen Liste hurdle - we're hoping he has an e/way squeak as hopefully will his stablemate Mountainside but no real confidence in either.

On a more serious note hope something comes to light with BOF. He didn't seem too happy today with the squeeze on from an early stage.
 
Apache Gold returns to his beloved Cork tomorrow.
Rain has been constant here all day with three going changes through the race card, from Good to Yielding yo Yielding to Soft.
Hopes are high for us going to bed tonight at least.
R P Whelan steers him.
Sassaway the obvious risk, down to 65 from a mid 80s high 2 years ago and Enter The Red another course specialist.

What the Lord giveth the Lord taketh away.
Such was the story at Cork with low 20s temperatures with a drying wind that assisted the sprinters to very quick times.
71.1 sec 2 year old maiden and we knew our fate. 70.6 sec division one and we knew the rest.
ground good , too quick for Apache so his fifth course win is off the cards for a while longer.
Had we run in the mile apprentice handicap we had a better chance but hindsight is the foresight of a gobshite, as my friend Paddy says.
