I can't remember yesterday Kri, nevermind an old reference! So that went straight over the ol' head, I'm afraid.....

We've had some more new members since, but they haven't said 'hallo'. Maybe they're shy, maybe they're waiting for the liveried butler with the tray of champagne to pass by, or maybe they've taken one look and fled in terror. Oh, well, wha'evvah... welcome to all of the newbies since the last one and let's hear from you! Just say hallo and away you go. But don't expect anyone to treat you with kid gloves.... :D

Hi to all!

I'm from Portugal, were betting is illegal, but I'm working in Ireland and i've been developing a huge interest for horse racing.

I've been betting and followed the races for the las year, and I hope I can continue this great hobby!

I like to play Poker to and since I've learn it I've been playing almost every weeks.

I hope we can change loads of information about horse racing here in Talking Horses.

good luck to all

Horse Power

Welcome, Horse Power.

I didn't know betting was illegal in Portugal, or is it just heavily state controlled. Do you have horse racing?

I just remembered I was in a Casino last (and only) time I was in Portugal, so it can't be all that bad. Mind you, I didn't have a bet, it was the nearest place I could find at the time that had air conditioning.

Bon dia, Horse Power! You will find that there are some members on here who like to play Poker, too. I hope you enjoy the forum - there are lots of knowledgeable people on here to chat to.

We have casinos, plenty of them and very good ones.

Casino estoril is the biggest casino in Europe.

But that is legal.

What is illegal is sports betting. Althoug at the moment big bookies are entering the market via internet because there is no legislation for internet betting.

Horse racing we might have a very amateur racing in the north of Portugal but without betting.
