Novice Chasers 2016/2017

I wonder if there's any chance connections might do the Thistlecrack and run him in open company after three or so runs before the turn of the year, he's 9 next year after all.

Does indeed look a nice prospect, don't think he'll be at the top table for novices but I can see him picking up another valuable springtime handicap somewhere.

Tidy little race at Punchestown. 2m2f might be short enough for Lieutenant Colonel, but then there's no outstanding candidate to take him on with. Gwencilly Berbas is a nice horse, but his best form has been over further and Connell has said he'll be campaigned over further after today.

Might take a chance on Three Stars who ended last season as a decent novice hurdler and got off to a nice start over 2m beating Ball D'Arc a month back.

at 11/10 LC is a strong lay imo.

On top of the trip being a bit sharp, the going would be more of a concern.

yielding or slower

quicker than yielding

yes they were good races..but ran below market expectations when facing quicker conditions

Alpha Des Obeaux and Prince Of Scars among 28 entries for the 2m6f Beginners Chase at Thurles next Thursday.

Old Guard is uncomfortable to watch and that is putting it mildly.

Why bother with fences? The horse is clearly not enjoying it...he jumped the path today going round and looks spooked by the whole experience. Hopefully these owners see the light

Presumablt Tom Scu keeps the ride? If so, any concerns? He is a better jockey over hurdles than fences, imo.
