Punchestown Festival 2017

I've decided to stop pissing about, and had a lumpy bet on Sizing John at Evens. Have also backed Someday in the Bumper, to try and make-up for the disappointment of the no-show at Cheltenham, though fave will be hard enough to crack (not too worried about the Giggi horse).

I've also settled on Sizing John having thought he was too short. The only thing stopping him would be a lung-bursting test of stamina IMO and I doubt Coneygree will be up to that today while Champagne West probably isn't good enough.
I'm still hopeful of a return on my Outlander AP bet at 16s ew but think he's unlikely to win

I can't remember the last time I bet anything at Punchestown and haven't even looked at anything at the meeting so far but I was up early this morning and bored so looked at today's card. Very briefly.

I have Presenting Percy better than Penhill and reckon a fit Coneygree would be far too good for his field so I've backed both in singles and a double.
 
I've backed Fayonagh 2/1 and Rightdownthemiddle 13/2. Two singles and a double.

Might also back Sizing John. Don't see why Djakadam should beat it, and it's some ask for Coneygree to come back right at the top of his game (which he'd need to). Evens SJ looks a decent enough price.
 
It's a tough ask for Coneygree, coming back from another break, on ground which probably doesn't suit, against a young, progressive horse in the form of his life.

Mind you, I'd lose money in a walkover, they way I've been going lately.

Likewise - since Cheltenham I'd have had more fun and saved a lot of time/heartache if I'd just withdrawn the contents of my bank account and set fire to it.
 
6:40 People's Park E/W 14/1 (12/1 Skybet 4 places) off a feather weight with conditions and trip to suit. Form at the end of last year would put him well in here imo.The in form Rachel Blackmore in the plate taking off another valuable 3lbs. Strong Each way bet for me today.

Good luck with getting the bet on with Skybet DH. Site has been down all morning as the clowns are performing maintenance - today !

Especially annoying as they're one of only three bookies I can bet with and I really want their 6 places, 1/4 odds in the 3:40 race
 
Yeah exactly the same for me Wilson. I've already backed people's park 3 places at 14/1 with BetVic and Hills. Been waiting for Skybet to come back online all morning as want to avail of the 4 places in the 6:40 and do an Each way double with Tellthemnuttin in the 3:40 with 6 places. Who do you fancy in the first?
 
I can't get the mobile app to work either Grass - that's what I use normally anyhow.

Boring as it is DH, I really fancy Blast of Koeman but the 7s has all but disappeared from any bookie offering decent place terms.
 
The bumper is very exciting. Poli Roi reportedly the best to come out of his P2P yard this year. Gordon has an enviable arsenal of bumper horses to go to war with next season.
 
Just this second back up and Blast Of Koeman available at 13/2, 6 places, 1/4 odds which has long gone elsewhere with the 5 or 6 places firms

The Racing Blogger has put up sizing john as todays THIS CANNOT BE BEATEN. So it will now be tailed off.
 
Does anyone think Coneygree is out there for sightseeing? His price is good enough already for a proper bet but if only we'd have a market for win margin, I'd want a piece of 20/1 for 5+ lengths.
