By the way, the tweet from Paul Hensey, manager of the Curragh, announces that horses being supplemented into the Irish Derby pay €100k, ten per cent of the pot. That I knew, but I wasn't aware that Gr1 winners pay only 50k and Gr2 or Gr1 placed horses pay 75k. Has this always been the case?

One of the three horses involved in the pile-up at Kilbeggan on Friday night was put down. I think it was Gates Of Rome, who stumbled and fell, bringing down the other two.

Gates of Rome apparently broke his leg on the hurdle rather than landing.
