Sprinter Sacre: should he run at further distances?

tizzard has already commented he may duck it if sprinter races which will be pretty sh*t if he does.
 
I can see why he ducked the QMCC (and to be fair it paid off handsomely), but now he's won the Ryanair surely he can't run scared of SS a second time. Cowardly and unsporting if he does IMO.

Where would be the shame in being second to one of the all-time greats?

I'm not sure there was anything in Flemenstar's illness at all, but his much publicised aversion to travelling is the likelier cause of a flop on his part, for all connections have recently stated that they don't consider it an issue any more.
 
The only Issue the connections have is sanity........They've got a lovely horse who has his limitations and beating Sprinter Sacre is one of them. They're going in like it will be a walk in the park for them while Colin Tizzard who has all his faculties is wondering is it worth it.

btw If Colin Tizzard decides it's not in Cue Card's best interest to possibly get thumped and he would rather have the horse keep on winning spree then more power to his elbow.

Seems very sensible of the Tizzards - Cue Card would surely have a good chance at Punchestown in Sprinter's absence .
 
Paddy power go: 1/3 SS, 4/1 Flem and 7/1 CC

Would be gutted if CC were to dodge this. He'll never beat him over 2m but surely over 2m4f they have to have a go!
 
Seem to remember Master Minded starting a short price for this and getting beaten. The Tizzards should man up and have a crack.
 
McCain syndrome with Peddlers Cross again. When a trainer has one horse that dominates his or her stable they overthink his programme. Just get it in the best race for him. That has to be the Melling.
 
Poor Peddlers Cross had the heart knocked out of him two years ago in the Champion Hurdle after giving his all. The Kelso race showed he still has the talent, however, so find him smaller races that he can dominate rather than putting him into seriously competitive races.
 
I think you guys should go and look at how much Cue Card would get if he finished 2nd or 3rd at Aintree compared to what he would get for winning the Irish Champion Chase and then ask yourselves if you would be willing to toss 40k-60k down the drain.

There's no incentive for Cue Card to take on Sprinter Sacre the Melling Chase isn't even worth half of what the QMCC was and Colin Tizzard made the right choice then so why in your wildest dreams would you think he'd should man up as you put it and go to Aintree.

If he does we as racing fans should thank our lucky stars and if he doesn't then we should have the savvy to understand why......not slag the man.
 
That's assuming this is a business decision Tanlic when in reality it's not. It's a sporting decision.

So they should man the f@ck up and have another go :D

what if he finished 2nd in the Irish race,,£ wise it wouldn't be much different

is cc owner a bit short of money that we play this £ game all the time

if it is just about money then just race in the £ highest value races all season..oh no you can't in case SS is in one?...ffs

sorry but this £ stuff is starting to look like a chickening out excuse to me

have a go for goodness sake..the game is going to get so tedious if its all about dodging opponents
