The 2011 2-y-o thread.

Giant's Causeway, Bernstein, Ivan Denisovich, Rostropovich, Peeping Fawn, Rock of Gibraltar, Stravinsky, Mozart, King Charlemagne, Monashee Mountain, Rip van Winkle, Rumplestilskin....

They were good names.

Sue Magnier has in the past named most of them (...and to be fair she's done a better than good job). Perhaps she's taken a season off?

Crap names but it must have been a decision taken at the top to have such a theme. Losing the plot?

Evidently words fail them, now. Come back SM.

Maybe they make up a secret anagram :ninja:

A Diarrhea Flew Sprout?

Diarrhea erupts a flow?

or my fav: Radiates a whelp furor?

Maybe they've just run out of historical figures and places after 10-15 years?

They're more along Juddmonte lines in terms of the names..

Really looking forward to seeing Kinglet at Newmarket tonight, a Kingmambo colt out of the very tough Karen's Caper.

Funny, I was actually looking at the 2yo entries over the next couple of days.

There's actually a decent enough juvenile listed race at Limerick Junction tonight.

Furner's Green looked decent enough on his debut, and he should meet most opposition in Dragon Pulse from Jessie's yard. Dragon Pulse is a son of Poetical, who seemed to be trying to emulate Yara for seconditis when she was with Grassick a few years back.

And the Sweet Solera tomorrow sees Kinetica from the Baronet up against two potential Godolphin hotpots. Most ineteresting is maiden winner Discourse is a half-sister to Bandini, who many may remember not staying in the Kentucky Derby.

Godolphin bring out another interesting newcomer, in what I think is the first of Short Skirt's progeny to race, a filly by Street Cry. Frankie prefers the Bernardini filly, should be another interesting maiden to watch.

Another winner. I can't believe the prices they continue to go off at! look at Al Zarooni's LSP!

Discourse mighty impressive there to smack two listed winners like that .

And in a terrific time. They were strung out like washing behind - Desert Gazelle, impressive winner of a usually informative July meeting maiden, was beaten ten lengths in fourth - and double figures are still available for the Guineas. Maybe is shorter in most books for Newmarket but the Chesham form hasn't stood up at all.

Would need to watch it again but what happened Frederick? Was he snatched up or did he clip some other horse? Murtagh seemed to get caught out..
