The Road to the Punchestown Festival

yes he was two years ago as well..when he started that thread in the same vein

i'll have laugh and banter with anyone..but he posts rarely and usually in the same vein..and same target..then it was Hamm and me

its no problem to me..but i will pass comment;)

Well done EC1 - you have his number . He has always been the same even when he posted under his own name .We then had to stop quoting that because he apparently got a job in Irish radio and was therefore far too important to be named on here . I am still waiting for him to replace Tony O'Hehir ...

"He hasn't many miles on the clock so hopefully we can keep him fresh and he'll keep coming back. I'd love to have a crack at the French Champion Hurdle. I've no doubt he will stay. Dawn Run did the treble (Irish, English and French Champion Hurdle) and I've no doubt he could, but we'll probably put him away.

Time enough for French CH next year

That's petty, bitter and unnecessary, Ardross. I would daresay not your usual style. Having a pop at someone's career ambitions, etc. Not on really!

Correct-leaving the personal stuff out of it Bobbyjo is a great judge when it comes to the big meetings.

....And is now one of the more prominent and successful sports journalists on the Island whom O'Hehir is knee high to.

A great meeting this week, really enjoyed it. Can't make up my mind whether Hurricane Fly or Quevega was the highlight, not to mention Sprinter Sacre, Sizing Europe's game effort or Sir des Champs.

Great meeting, the Mullins show predictably again, though I still can't be having the Saturday
....one day too many

JP can surely do better with his many, many horses?

Some hike in trip for the Hurricane to tackle the French Champion Hurdle - thought a more logical route would be for Mullins to aim him at the Barka over 2m 5f and then put him away until next season.

Will also be interesting to see what he aims at the Prix De Longchamp and hopefully target something at the big November meeting, with the number of fillies and mares he has in the yard he must have something for the big mares handicap over there at the end of November.

You can poke yer f*cking Istrabraq up yer rear-ends.

Hat's off to Hurricane Fly and to Thousand Stars but a poor effort from Rock On Ruby who ran at least 7lbs below his best on the ground.

I can understand your enthusiasm but please ffs don't be going comparing him to Istabraq

You got a short memory my friend.

I can see no reason why Hurricane Fly can't come back and win another Champion Hurdle but much depends on can he stay sound and how good Our Conor and possibly Far West turn out to be.

As for the rest like the New One and MTOY I can't see either being any sort of threat to the Fly.

I'd like to see him put away now win a few more Irish mickey mouse grade 1's and get that 3rd CH win under his belt......winning the French CH don't mean sh1T winning 3 CH's means everything in my book.

In the light of the discussions before Cheltenham and the subsequent revelations about the sectionals, surely HF is far too short? We know the race fell into his lap because they went over-fast so there's no way ROR will do that again. If ROR runs the same way as in last year's race there's no way HF beats him out of sight. I've taken the 9/2.

You think the race fell into his lap; though - after conceding 3 or 4 lengths before the first hurdle - HF ran near identical splits to 2 of the 3 horses deemed to have thrown the race away by going too quickly.
ROR proved, once again, that he doesn't have the speed of Hurricane Fly - no matter what the ground, or how he's ridden.

which means he's way more important than ordinary posters on here of course

Of course not. Bobbyjo spouts as much rubbish as any of us, possibly more. I just resented the sneering judgement of his professional competence by an earlier poster. A low blow in my opinion. Play the ball, not the man.

similar sentiments made on the comments under that video comparing to the different era's. i think hurricane's name probably deserves to be thrown into the ring now.

one thing can be said for sure. it's a fantastic performance to have trained the fly to the record he has when you think back to the numerous issues he had over the first couple of years of his career, not to mention the problems he had last season when by the end of it you suspected we'd all seen the best of him. superb from willie mullins.

I usually just observe racing posts these days, but frankly i have found his posts frequently "sneering" too as well as having another side to them. Im with EC on this

What a stupid remark, you're clearly a slow learner.

All those Grade 1s where Hurricane Fly "kept beating the same horse" turned out to be far from shabby and Jezki, Our Conor and "the same horse" are all going to be nosing around for opportunities in Ireland next season.

Fook me wish I had a crystal ball......Jezki is CH class is he? Funny I thought he got his ass kicked in novice company at Cheltenham and you got him giving HF a race next year?

For one you can bet your ass WM will run Hurricane Fly only twice prior to the Champion Hurdle next season and he won't meet Our Conor until March

Neither trainer would want a clash/ hard race beforehand if they can avoid it and they will.

Get back in you box and keep eating the sprouts you cheeky upstart

Did you give up watching racing after Cheltenham or something?

His ass kicked? Did you not cop how far the top 3 pulled clear from the rest
