Today's Fancy

Banna Bourche in the 5.45 in Meydan. This one has been working very well out there apparently, and is fancied to trouble the judge. Ive had a good ew bet on it, it will be a good weekend or il be sitting in!

What A Friend looks very vulnerable at 4/5 in the Aon..giving 10lbs to most of these..must be taken on that price

I was thinking you might have a point before the race and so it proved. Nevertheless he really should have won shouldn't he?

should have's have cost me many times in the past Steve..i'm not sure..he looked a very awkward ride to me

the winner would have won easier without the bad blunder..could be argued

If Skelton and McCoy had been on opposite mounts you would have had a different result. Sure WAF is awkward, but if Skelton hadn’t gone to go past Noland one way then decided on the other he would have saved a good length + momentum… Anyway when all’s said and done you actually called it right, so far be it for me to spoil the party. :)

I still wouldn't fancy it for the GC

The winner made a really bad mistake and still won..which should be factored in..without that error might have won by 5

just watching the last two fences would agree..if AP on may have got up..may have:)

Should be plenty available to place lay Strawberry at 4/6 in the 620.This one decides the shape of my weekend.
Have also had a small ew bet on Anam Chara at 66s.

I had her down as very game (ie, may be difficult to keep her out of the places) but leaving Stoute never improves any animal (Alkaased might be a slight case!). Tricky one.

Chronically bad race EC1-I see in her last race which was 111 days ago Hughes and Ha nagan were the jockeys involved in the finish.Maybe she had a very hard race to keep her off the track for that long?

Not the Gold Cup I’d agree, but you can’t have been paying attention! that’s Denman from Tidal Bay with Imperial Commander, Kempes and Long Run running for the spare place.

Anyone any views on the Betfair Chase at Ascot tomorrow - when betting first came out on this race Riverside was twice the price of Pride of Dulcote - that has now been correctly reversed. If Rivetside Theatre is a genuine 165 horse then he should win this - but (not digging up the the dead here) I have a niggling doubt that his KG run has overstated his ability and would put him more a 160 ish animal. If my thoughts on this are anyway close then Tartak over this trip maybe the one at 5/1.

I do believe Riverside Theatre is a 165 horse at Kempton as he's proved he's a course specialist there, and the stiff fences at Ascot could be his undoing cant see him topping 160 here.
I'd be worried about the bounce with Pride of Dulcote as its happened to a few good horses recently.
Not convinced Ascot is the right track for Tartak and not convinced he's good enough.
I'd be prepared to give Deep Purple one last chance at the price as long as it doesn't come up soft. His first run of the season in the Charlie Hall when giving Nacarat 10lb shows the ability is still there even though they changed his style of running so he'd get the trip and it didn't suit. Because of his age I can forgive his bad run L/T/O but Ascot and this distance look ideal for him. As long as it's not soft ground Id like to see him make the running as he's a good jumper and could get this field out of their comfort zone.

The Scorching Wind Lingfield 4.00.

Stuart Williams does very well with his handicappers at this time of the year and even though this horse finished last last time out he was only beaten two lengths; do have a look at the run, it's interesting. I would be happier if this was over a bit further but the trainer knows best.

Supported from 12's and only 9/1 on Betfair now, although 10/1 available with some bookies, a good sign from that stable...

Silviniaco Conti looks a standout bit of value at 4/1 to me today, hoping Overturn takes them along at a lick and set it up for him.

Drove to the nearest Powers shop this morning at opening time and took the 4/1 even though he was available to lay at 100/30 on Betfair.as far as I know Powers shops stand by their overnight prices for about ten minutes in the morning.

First time blinkers and I suspect they'll ride it more forcefully over this trip from a lowish draw. Well spotted Colin regarding it's run last time.

There's another Noseda one at a short price in the 2.20 Luke..

Baharat - beaten twice at odds on - hung on debut and outpaced last time over 9f..drops back to 8f today which won't help...plus visored on only its 3rd run

has two opponents that were both fav last time and look as though step up in trip can help

Baharat looks a gilt edged lay at 1.87

Price has gone now, although I wouldn't be involved anyway. Haven't got a Post today and I was wondering what Pipe says about Ronaldo Des Mottes? 10/1 is quite tempting.

I'm a big fan of Silviano but his penalty today makes him just about the worst horse in at the weights..and may be better given a bigger stamina test..looks more a lay than a play to me.

Mille Chief will take some beating..but just for the hell of it I'm having a tenner on Celestial Halo:)..12/1 yummy

his only run at this course was a nice win by 10 length..todays the day boys :p

Ronaldo DES Mottes for me.

Waiting for this first time out???

knows the opposition and they must know what type of horse they've got
