Un de Sceaux

This is the wrong time to be thinking of backing UDS imo

UDS is exactly the same price now 10/11 as SS was at the beginning of March 2012 so he's not exactly value if weighing up what SS had done prior to him winning the Arkle.

He was immediately made 6/4 fav for the QMCC after he won the Arkle. Prior to the Arkle he was as low as 7/2 but PP offered 5/1

He was 10/1 to win the Arkle at the start of his chasing career and 25/1 to win the QMCC Conor got 6/1 the 2nd week of Dec when he won that 1m, UDS was 4/1-5/1 by that time

Expecting 14/1 we'd all back him but there's a trend there and I reckon the best you will get is about 5/1 with SS and SDG are still around that's not a price I would take.

You are taking a big chance because if one of the big 2 win the QMCC it's a no brainer will get about 5/1 after the results of this years festival are known

That said some mad bookie is offering 3/1 for this years QMCC nrnb which is simply not going to happen.....but the bookie will collect the interest on your cash which makes him a lot smarter then any mug who would take it

Using different horses and their odds in different years and comparing one another...........like you have done with Sprinter and UDS........ is similiar to using trends anaylisis to dismiss a horse in a race, something I know you're are always against.

I've looked for an opportunity to go against UDS, and thought Sgt Reckless might be it, but on reflection, also acknowledging the fact Mick Channon hasn't got another run into him, I can't really take Sgt Reckless seriously , even as a Tom Segal tip.

I've seen Sgt Reckless price come in a touch but I'm hardly kicking myself for not taking the 25's. The horse hasn't been over fences since a novice chase at Uttoxeter ffs lol.

The favourite does look sound as a pound, touch wood, and I'll be looking to double him up with horses like The New One, possibly with an elaborate treble with something bigger priced than the aforementioned USD and TNO..

I could see this double/treble being my main bet for the meeting.

I had my treble on some time ago with Faugheen UDS and Peace and Co and like every other year I am counting my money already but like every other year 1 might win maybe even 2 but as sure as hell one will get stuffed.......If it has to be hopefully it's UDS as I have backed the other two like there's no tomorrow.

The fact that usually one horse gets beat is the reason we have patent bets :)
I'm taking your first one on, (Faugheen) with The New One as you know.

UDS will hopefully win for both of us........................as for Peace And Co, I'm not sure. He's not for me, best of luck though.:)

Ha i've never visited Thailand usually hear nice reports. Sounds like something you need to visit before you peg it. :)

Tis all BS mate girls are terrible and they want nothing to do with you unless you're 3 times their age and they look like something out of Vitoria Secret....I hate the place

You do see some weird things thought....I saw a circular Rainbow about 4 months ago..........unreal it was a rainbow but round and the sun in the centre......I took a pic will try and find it.

Then this morning I woke up and look out my window and see this thing in the sky........It's either the moon and it can't tell the time or Jupiter just got a lot closer to earth.

It does but I assure it's not or there's 2 suns

Very bad colour it was actually bright redish and the sky wasn't pinkish........So much for the Samsung Galaxy 5 camera

The question has to be asked silly or not. What will happen if someone decides to take on UDS right from the word go?

It would seem he's made all everytime he has ran..............I can't see someone not having a go or should they just give him the lead and accept they can't live with him.

It will be a great spectacle to watch if he allowed to go 10 lengths clear and then pulls away.........magic stuff but will they do that?

One man who knows everything there is to know about winning from the front and never shirks a challenge is David Pipe.

He was trying to flog a leg a few weeks ago until the end of the P2p season for 5k stating he would run in the Arkle.

When I found ot I backed him at something like 260 then laid him back at double figures so I am not pocket talking.

He is no longer for sale so either someone took him up on it or he has decided not to run.....no idea which.

His entry is Sail By The Sea who was very fast over hurdles in his own grade.......took it up at the 3rd hurdle one day and shot 25 lengths clear of his field and just kept galloping.

They certainly know about front running and if he does turn up I reckon they will throw caution to the wind and have ago.

There's always the chance the fav could fall or a make errors if hassled early and the Pipes are game enough to say give it a go.

Could be wrong but if they all sit back admiring UDS he's not going to stop.........Give him a 10 length lead and then try and catch him you'll need Pegasus

They have to take this fella on at his won game or there ass is grass........better end up tailed off for trying than end up tailed off for giving yourself no chance.

Even if BG gets the likes of JH into a rhythm and jumping well sitting waiting for this horse to come back and you'll be there till Xmas.

I don't think any of them are interested in taking him on, as it would merely compromise their own race. I think the prevailing thought process will be to allow UDS to tear-off, in the hope that he unseats or falls.

There's basically going to be two Arkles; one where it's UDS vs the Course, and one with all the other runners in it.

That's the way I reckon it will play out too.

I haven't watched it again but my memory of UDS's last run was that Clarcam and Gilgamboa were well in touch until jumping the 2nd last. I don't think it will be a case of catch me if you can, more like Ruby pressing the turbo button as they're turning in.

clarcam was on his heels, jumping and travelling well

gilgamboa had lost a bit of ground on them mainly due to some poor jumping

Don't know Bear but even although Clarcam got close he could never get on terms.

The last thing Ruby will want is company....He is a novice and with others around him one lapse in concentration and he's gone.

He's fast but he's no Sprinter Sacre when it comes to jumping.....If I were Ruby I would take off like a bat out of hell then quicken up..

Too much of this holding up superior horses allowing baits to get into the race goes on.

Michael Dickinson had the right idea.........you're better so don't give the others a chance to get into the race and he won race after race doing just that.

WM will say... kick 'im in the belly Ruby.....race over.

UDS apart I see WPM has 5 favourite on the day. God help the bookies if they all win.

For a tenner the return at current prices is about 900 pounds

I'd be taking the early price on the last one that for sure. There will be thousand of people doing the accie doubles and trebles

If they do happen to win please check your mailbox first thing in the morning...........In it you will be full of begging letters from bookmakers :)

Not having seen any Irish racing I hadn't thought to look it up on utube till tonight. Des [bless him] was calling Un de Sceaux 'Un Desco'; this is surely wrong?
