Fascinating strategy M&P -just shows there is more than one way to skin a cat. There is a new netting shop locally offering a 25% bonus on straight forecasts -I am determined to take a few quid off them over the next month.

2.10 Newcastle - Choosethenews @11/2 ( Sky ) is slightly under the general quote , but with 7 PLACES for EW bets is a play for me.
I could see it being a Good strategy at Cheltenham -will have a serious look at it.
It all depends on the make up of the races.

For what it's worth I have played the following bet to small stakes with Paddy Power

6 x EW Trebles

12.35 Kenilworth ( SA )
The Real Prince 5/1
Meu Capitano 6/1
x
2.20 Kenilworth
Royal Aussie 12/1
Questioning 8/1
Cafe Culture 18/1
x
4.17 Chepstow
Bridget Mary 15/2 ( 4 Places )

The shorter the favs - the more value there can often be in the Place Markets backing against the short ones

I like a good forecast, over the years I've landed a few in greyhound racing.

Given that sport is in decline trying them with the horses would in principle make sense. The dividends are often tasty if you can get them up.

A small scale betting day for me today but I agree with Might And Power about Choosethenews and Bridget Mary.

I've got them in the yankee with Imperial Saint in the Pendil and my good doctor TJ Eckleburg at Chepstow.

Good luck today everyone.

Nice touch landed in the 1.05 Fairyhouse Saturday ....200/1 into 8's and wins easily

Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield confirmed that doubles with Great Attitude and Sticktotheplan had been struck and said there was concern heading into the concluding 2m bumper. Both horses were previously owned by Douglas Taylor until recently.

However, Sticktotheplan, who was as big as 12-1 with some firms on Friday night before going off the 11-10 favourite, was well beaten behind Willie Mullins' impressive winner Kaiser Ball.

A €10 double at 125-1 and 12-1 would have paid over €16,000.

When asked earlier in the day whether there were big liabilities heading into the bumper, Binfield replied: "We have seen money for the double and would be concerned now after the big-priced one, which had been strong in the market, duly delivered in fine style."

Great Attitude was 200-1 with Sky Bet at 12.26pm, just 39 minutes before the race, but a late surge of support saw him backed all the way down to 8-1 at the off.

He was 125-1 with Paddy Power until 12.46pm when he was cut to 80-1, and Binfield said that some punters had got some very fancy prices.

Binfield said: "It's fair to say that Great Attitude was probably living up to his name on the gallops at home as some punters managed to extract some quite fancy prices and he was really well backed."

The outcome was never really in doubt for those who got the fancy prices as Great Attitude was always up with the pace and kicked for home early in the straight on the way to an emphatic five-and-a-half-length victory.

I believe that 800/1 was available on Betfair for pennies and much more laid at all odds down to 8s.
