What are you backing Today? Part 2

Reduced stakes today.

Verreaux Eagle 4:17 Yarmouth - couldn’t get a clear run and put under no pressure last time. 2/1 atm

Speriamo 7:00 Kempton - quite a bit of money for her last time at big prices and promising run from poor draw.4/1 atm

VE ran pretty well, but never really threatened
S a nose is enough

Nothing firm as yet, but two of interest.

(maybe) Angelic Divas 5:40 Sandown - would have won her race if she hadn’t started so slowly, but hot competition here. 7/2 atm
(unlikely) Findono 7:45 Sandown - in my tracker early last year, but didn’t run again (injury). Need to see money coming. 20/1 atm

Saturday York 1.40

I don't think this is an I.T.V race but I have a strong fancy for Swiss Ace. This was a former Aidan O Brien trained horse who won his maiden first time out then went backwards but changed stables to Ruth Carr when he was also gelded which prompted a turnaround in his recent form.

He beat a very good yardstick of Charlie Hills stable called Kings Knight really well by five lengths before unseating last time out.

That horse of Charlie Hills, Kings Knight, has collateral form with my biggest tracker horse Natural Path, (he was third behind Charlie Appleby's Silent Film abroad in the same race that Natural Path was fourth in).

So I feel the form of Swiss Aces win is pretty strong and he should be fine stepping up in class even though he did unseat the rider last time out. Hopefully no repeat of that here.

He's 14s on the early show with William Hills and at these prices he is the best bet I have spotted with my own eyes this season.

Didn’t back either in the end. AD ran poorly - Rossa Ryan reported that ANGELIC DIVAS (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling.

F showed real promise I thought - will likely take him next time

Today, I think the unraced Godolphin horse will need to be pretty good (but they all seem to be atm!) to beat Kaasib, who won pretty easily last time. Despite his penalty I’ll chance him at 5/2 (from 11/4 overnight). 1:00 Goodwood.

Handicap debut for Heathen - 4:45 Haydock - who I think has been primed for handicap (see my blog). Bit concerned that it may have been earmarked for Buick so I won’t go mad and will take ew to 4pl.

Tomorrow, Goodwood 2.15 - Majestic Dawn 9/2 - clear top rated on ORs, RPRs and my own figures. It's also had a run and if this is a serious target (which it should be), it's a very minimal risk each-way. Bet365 offer the BOG but they're only going three places. Hills and Sky are going four places, which makes the price huge for a nine-runner race. Hills are boosting it to nearer 5/1 as well. As I say, if this is trying there should be more boots filled than behind the sheds at a Dundee secondary school.

H in a good enough position was put under no pressure at all when push came to shove. Wait for Buick to be up as I said - wish I’d listened..
K took on the pace and got a bit swamped towards the end and coasted in. Disappointing run.

Not a good day as my other two bets were 2nd.

Drifted to a mammoth price about 33s now I am not too bothered still feel he can run a big race and maybe get a place.

Cheers Ep1, folllowed you in (ew though, as he was beaten by a closer lto, and similar could happen today).

On Bullet Force also. I think the Godolphin horse who beat him at Newmarket could be a group horse.

Other bets are War In Heaven at Goodwood and Silence Please in the Bronte. She's tight at the head of the market now but was a good price when Search for a Song was heading the ante-post list.

Eldrickjones to go well in the 1.40 at York. Currently best at 20s with PP and BF Sportsbook. Battled on well first time up at Newmarket, proven big field performer in the Coventry last year. Maybe he'll struggle to compete with the older runners this time up, but equally may turn out to be ultimately better than a significant number of these.

Will probably hold and hope for over 30 on the exchange.

Ran respectably in 5th just a head behind the fourth.

Roll on a decent class 3 race next time out. He should win one soon.
