Stratford 4:30

Catch Tammy 6pts win @ 9.0
Tindaro 2pts win @4.5

1pt rev tote exacta

David Pipe has 3 runners at Wincanton today where the card is being sponsored by Bathwick Tyres, who also sponsor the Pipe yard, at least one of those runners is owned by one of the companies owners. Tom Scudamore the stable jockey instead goes to Stratford for one ride on Catch Tammy for his first race in h'cap company and I smell a possible Pipe gamble. Catch Tammy has had only 5 runs of which 3 were over hurdles and 2 in bumpers, but 3 of those runs have come in a Listed bumper a grade 1 & grade 2 hurdle. He never put in a noticeable performance in those races but he wasn't disgraced on his last effort in the Supreme Novices at Cheltenham. Todays race represents a significant drop in class and on a line through Cinders and Ashes, Tindaro could have Catch Tammy's measure so I've had a saver on him with a small r/f/c as well.

I like that angle SC..had a nibble on it

best bet for me today is in the 2.00 Stratford...should be odds on really imo..DOUBLE ROSS..at 3.3..looks far better than these ..pick any run from last 5 runs any they are all better than these

If Tom is sent to Stratford, I would rather be on the Wincanton 3:whistle:

Not a bad run in the end, Chef. I imagine they'll try him over a longer trip next.

Conditions are going to be demanding at Hexham today, which is a testing enough track at the best of times. I suspect none of the front four in the betting for the maiden hurdle (3.30) are stoutly enough bred to see out the climb from the back straight to the winning post on heavy ground.

Of the rest the only two which look to have a chance are Bar Seventy Two and Rocking And Reeling, the others look pretty hopeless. It might be worth lobbing a small amount on each at fancy prices. Both are on offer at 25/1 at present.

Quiet morning in Brussels I take it...;)

Thanks Grey - I did consider backing Lady Boulea @ 66/1 in the Mares Maiden Hurdle at Cork, she was very very impressive in winning her Maiden Point but disappointed in a Bumper on her first rules start. I'd imagine given the price though the handbrake is firmly on :(

I was looking at that form too, it does look good, and I've had €3 on at 160. I think the reason she is a silly price could be to do with there being an apparently better fancied stablemate, Killtilane Rose, in the race. That said, this is a big field, there won't be any problems for one that wants to hide, and the favourite ought to win.

Off to Windsor tonight - smallish fields but big trainers debuting some nice types.

Fancy Birdie Green in the opener.

Well done with the place Grey.

I also had Young Sparky in place market, who was looking good until someone put a brick wall in it's way.

I Like Tell Dawstown in the 6:50 at Cork. Form in the book and his last run is working out alright. Today is his Champion Hurdle seemingly...

One bet on the day at Punchestown for me so far:

18:40 Mossey Joe @ 10/1. This is a serious, serious horse and there's no way he should be as big as 10/1. He was the highest rated Novice Chaser around going into the Autumn having earned a 151 rating and was probably over the top by the time he ran at Down Royal in a decent Handicap in June, he'd previously disposed of a number of useful decent handicappers at Cork in May and had beaten Ainama and co on debut and though that one hasn't done much for the form he took the race very easily indeed. The step up in tirp will be no problem for him and this gelding who was unbeaten 3/3 in Points/HC's looks likely to be the one to trouble Sir Des Champs most in this - Barry Gerraghty is booked again and the only doubt is the ground but he's won a Novice Hurdle on soft and points on yielding to soft so whilst he'd appreciate quicker ground I'm hopeful that he'll be ok on this. He's also available @ 5/2 W/O Sir Des Champs which is a stonking bet IMO.

Sth 7.05 Fennel Bay win @ 3.9

FB and the fav have no course form and both sires do go well here but FB's sire has a current strike rate of 26%, which is excellent.

No surprise to see fanning try and make all.
