Cabeletta I had before I changed my mind. The drift in price actually put me off. Nevermind.

Roll on Tis Marvellous.

I put up Shine So Bright last week in the July Cup at ridiculously long odds in the belief it was a duff race, which I believe the result bore out, but it didn't run due to the ground. It reappears at Newbury today in the lesser Hackwood Stakes but its much-improved chances are reflected in its much more sober price of 8/1 tops. I've taken it ew at 15/2 to the extra place.

Third and BOG 10/1 to clear a small profit on the race. Never looked like winning, though. Plenty of non-triers in the race, it has to be said.

Tabdeed another one that I should have been on (in hindsight!).

A decent day's racing tomorrow

Marb I know you've had a good day but that hurts picking the wrong one in that last race I know you said you were stuck between the two Tis and Tabdeed and its a shame as that would have been a great treble.

Also unlucky Des we've had the exacta between us there paid a grand and never had a nicker on it excellent effort though.

It does indeed, Danny.

I feel on a different day I could have had three or four winners depending on whether I changed my mind.

That's racing.

Breathtaking Look a big runner tomorrow.

I could see Faylaq shortening from 8/1 in the 3.25 at Newbury. She may return to her form from last season plus the drop to 10F is a big factor.

A bet for tomorrow before the paper tipsters start going over things. In the John Smiths cup I was torn between 2 horses really, Good Birthday and Sinjaari They were both closely linked when they bumped into one at Newbury last year in the Shape of Headman when he was rated 95 at the time and within 2 more runs he was up to 112 so obviously didn't have much chance of stopping him off such a lowly mark. Sinjarri looked the better of the 2 that day seeing the trip out much better than the Balding runner but I was originally going to come down on the side of Good Birthday anyway as he has race fitness on his side. However he's been drawn in the car park in 22 which isn't an absolute killer here at York but having a claiming jockey on combined with a bad draw just tells me its not going to be his day. Sinjaari's other run after that at 10f came at Goodwood where he didn't really get the run of the race and the Jockey dropped the reigns as he was making his challenge. Providing he's race fit and he's not any the worse for being gelded I think he stands a solid chance. 14/1 is a cracking price it may be one to play win only under the circumstances. Good Birthday may keep drifting with the draw he's got and if he gets much bigger he's probably worth an e/w play himself to try and overcome it.

Cheers Danny, don't bother that much with the flat but followed you in.

That's what I like mate a punter who takes it on the chin good man.

No probs tigger glad you made a couple of quid tbh I wouldn't be following me in after 18 months out of the loop but he did looks a decent bet tbf.

Just for laughs I'd played the trifecta I had Sinjaari, Caradoc (who I thought was a banker to make the frame) Good Birthday.....and then I added Maurice's Certain lad as I'd had similar thoughts myself in the week. Played the trifecta but not a nicker on the exacta ....I really have got this game by the balls....not! Is after timing losers acceptable on here ?

Equilateral ended up costing me a packet today and the thing that really chalks my tits is that I knew that was how he was going to get beat today, paid a price for not listening to my instincts.

This Fayleq already shortening for trainer William Haggas who had the big winner today.

The money was good for today's Hamdan runner Tabdeed.

Living In The Past 3.05Y won last year's Lowther (gp 2, c/d) and her trianer maintained she'd be better this year. Hasn't run since the Breeeder's Cup but goes well fresh & given the retained jockey rides, for local connections, it's not hard to imagine she's been targetted at this.
Took 16/1 - 5 places with Skybet last night.

I don't feel particularly strongly about anything today but I went through York and Newbury out of curiosity and landed on these.

We'll see how they go. I've backed the multiples to small stakes. I might go back and split the two tracks into separate multiples.

I think someone on here had a decent bet on this at Ascot last month, trainers comments today

Newbury 16.00 Blue Laureate was well fancied for the Ascot Stakes but banged his head on the stalls and was never able to get competitive. Like our other runner Reshoun I'm trying him in a first-time visor and it wouldn't be a big surprise if he went very close in this competitive event."

Notice this finished 4th just out of the money but he won it with his other one, classic Ian Williams :)

Dual C/D winner Auckland Lodge looks poised to strike again in the 8.00 at Catterick.
7/1 generally.
