What are you backing Today?

At fairly long odds surely Ballyfoy has a good chance in the Midlands National. Form has picked up recently and performance against Dover's Hill indicates in good nick.
This will be third race in a short period so there is risk but the the price compensates. Indeed the price on Betfair of 24's puts me off a little but I'm still having a go ew .
Posh Bird for the saver.

Bar De Ligne looks a huge price to me in the next race at Uttoxeter - beat the favourite at Market Rasen back in January and comes out very favourably at the weights on that form and the yard is coming into a bit of form having had a winner yesterday and the ever capable Lucy Alexander takes the ride. 20/1 with Bet365 or 16's elsewhere looks very big to me.

Both Bar de Ligne and Ballyfoy placing was not too shabby. The latter looked to be full of running at the end and I'm not sure he was brought forward early enough-pocket talking as the price didn't get to my stakes back lay

Bruslini for me in the 3.55 - If he jumps like he did first time up I think he looks thrown in on this mark given that I think he will be a better chaser than hurdler.

I backed Bruswick Gold at 16's for the 3:55 at Uttoxeter. Looked like the winner for a long way and eventually got pipped by one that he already looked like he fended off in Lackamon.

Any thoughts on the ride guys? I thought it was a fair enough ride but just wanted opinions.

Didn't see it Marble

one interest tonight..sick of sights of races now;)

7.50..a decent size lay on Dialogue @ 1.90...make it about 5th best here

Shinrock Paddy would be a lump job tomorrow off 131 in the novice handicap over 3 miles if Nolan's stable wasn't under such a cloud. Noble Prince cut out in the Ryanair and his two at Naas last weekend stopped like they were shot. Anyone got any news on this?

Dressedtothenines looks the obvious one tomorrow in the 2.55 Limerick at around 6/5.

Carlisle 3:30
How I've rated them

Tarn Hows 123 ----------- O/R 119 - Has 4lb in hand but has had a long season - however being sired by Old Vic will improve with age - ground and dist. not a problem and may surprise but this is one for the start of next season for me.

Eyre Apparent 121 ------- O/R 110 - My rating is for g/f ground - I don't think the horse acts on soft. Looks very well h'capped if he gets his ground. If he does handle the ground then he's well in but one to keep an eye on when the ground gets faster imo.

Nowforhurlin 118+ ------- O/R 117 - trainer in form but question mark about the horses stamina - but does have good course form. Short listed

Samstown 118+ ---------- O/R 112 - has 6lbs upwards in hand, lightly raced and going and dist: shouldn't be a problem - short listed

Mitchell's Way 112+ ----- O/R 103 - has 9lbs upwards in hand should love this stiff galloping track - I think he'll still be going when others have cried enough, I think he's still improving. Good e/w chance

Simonside 114 ------------ O/R 118(5) - could run his race but I think there a few better h'capped.

Pas Trop Tard 113+ ------ O/R 108(5) has 5lbs+ in hand and a 5lb claimer on board but there are questions to answer on going and stamina - may surprise.

Hada Men 109 ------------ O/R 107 - can't understand why this is fav and have place laid him - found plenty of form where at least 3 of these should finish ahead of him.

Mountain Hiker 105 ------ O/R 110(3) shouldn't be good enough

Ros Castle 103+ --------- O/R 107 - shouldn't be good enough

Badgers Retreat 103 ----- O/R 108(5) - Question marks over ground and stamina

Oscar Romeo 96 ---------- O/R 99 - shouldn't be good enough

Turbolinas 88 ------------- O/R 101(5) - shouldn't be good enough

The bets for me are:
Mitchell's Way e/way & Hada Men(place lay)

Now am I going to look very good or pathetic?

Shinrock Paddy's jumping would be enough to put me off him; I was more interested in the other Nolan horse, Carloswayback, whose third to Start Me Up over course and distance looks solid form. Doubts over whether he truly gets three miles, combined with the yard's poor form, are enough to put me off him.

The one I've backed is Pat Martin's Caduceus. Remember being taken with him as a prospect over hurdles, but he subsequently lost his way until seeming to get it together in a Thurles handicap the last day. Still totally unexposed as a staying chaser, if he can build on that he may well go close.

Haven't posted on this thread before and i know Gigalo has no interest in the hedgehoppers but thought i'd popon and give a mention for Spinning Waters in the 1st race at NA.
Will be better suited by this good ground and must have a decent chance on its running behind Knight in Purple last season with plenty of horses behind that have won multiple races since. Doesn't go well on softer ground but won twice at Chepstow on the flat last year over 2 miles and this distance should suit over hurdles, has dropped 10lbs in the ratings since 2nd to Knight in Purple and should have a good chance in this poor race.

Good luck with that but this horse is entered next Thursday at Chepstow, where he is a bit of a course specialist - my worry would be that, that race is the target - had a small e/way anyway - so if not today I'll get it back next Thursday. :D

That was dissapointing, still running on into about 6th at the end, hadn't noticed it was in at Chepstow but jockey seemed to try his hardest to get him involved. Should be able to win from this mark though on possibly firmer ground.

Surely Mozoltov should be long odds in the 5.25..6/4 available ;)

I hope thats literate ;)

I can see some value in Five Point Plan myself 15.5 on betfair - only 9L behind Pique Sous first time up and that horse 3rd btn 1 1/2L in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham. Worth a go.

Three nice one's for today I think, very sweet on the last one. Won't be able to watch them but hopefully will get some nice results.

4:50 Kempton - Reignier - 20/1 E/W

A useful juvenile who broke his maiden and finished runner up in the Norfolk stakes. Three year old career was spent putting decent efforts in, in listed, G3 and decent handicap company - without quite managing to get home in front. Four year old career mostly disappointing but maybe found level winning a c3 handicap over 7f at Haydock. Last run of the season was first on all-weather when hampered in-running at Deauville. Started off 5 year-old career on AW, failing to hold off challenge of the field in c4. Seems to come on for the run, winning 2to at 2, 2nd in listed company 2to at 3 and only win at 4 coming one week after returning from a 3 month break.

Today runs in a fairly ropey looking class3 7f handicap, where one of the 6/1 joint-favs finished 19th and 29th in last two runs. Races off 90, 10lb lower than finished last season. Previously won off 90 and listed placed off 98.

Speculative.
