Comedy School ran no race at listed level last time out and makes AW debut tonight at the bottom of the handicap. Looks a good price to me despite being favourite and expect it to win.

Alkhor shouldn't get beat at Chelmsford either.

Throwing in Arithmetic in a weak race at Beverley. Ruth Carr picked up out of Charles Hills and promising first run back from a break at Ponte last week.

Win singles and each way trixie.

Jamie Spencer travels to Beverley for 1 ride today (Pacharana 4.15) and it's for Luca Cumani who has a 43% strike rate at the course.

3.40 - Punchestown - Orchard Road. 0.75 pts e/w. Available at 22/1. (Skybet - 1/5 odds first 6)
Luck plays a big part in these Irish large field handicaps. At the relevant prices preference is for Orchard Road and Bakers Street. Orchard Road ia now into veteran status at ten years old but he hasn't been over-raced and he has only been with Gordon Elliott since last July. He has won two and been placed twice in his nine starts since than and improved 18 pounds in doing so. He won easily from a mark of 106 in December and has been travelling well when departing in his last two starts (fell and slipped up). Those efforts suggest he is capable of defying his current mark of 116, he is versatile regarding ground conditions and he has the assistance of the excellent Jack Kennedy. Bull Ride

3.50 - Beverley - Bit Of A Quirke. 2 pts win. Availabe at 11/2.
A very open and competitive nine furlong handicap. Slight preference is for bottom weight, Bit Of A Quirke. He is still a maiden after nine starts but he has finished second in four of his last five starts and he appears to be slowly improving. His latest effort saw him produce a career best over ten furlongs on his reappearance at Pontefract from a one pound higher mark and there's every chance there is more to come from this four year old. He was beaten just under four lengths but the winner has since followed up and is now rated eight pounds higher. This is just his second attempt at today's trip and the only slight concern is that he has to conclusively prove that he handles ground this quick. The yard are in good form and both they and the jockey turn up at this track for just the one entry.

5.20 - Perth - Black Ivory. 3 pts win. Available at 9/2.

6.05 - Punchestown:
Younevercall. 0.75 pts e/w. Available at 18/1. (Skybet - 1/5 odds first 6)
Conduct Yourself. 0.5 pts e/w. Available at 22/1. (Skybet - 1/5 odds first 6)

Trying to turn my shite form around.

I fancy Clive Cox's Blitz at Sandown a bit at the prices in tomorrows 4:05. On his form in Ireland for former trainer Johnny Murtagh, he's well worth a mark of 82., and has a good each way chance. Cox is in good form with two winners from last four runners, and a 3 pound claimer aids the horses cause.

Punchestown 4:55 Cresswell Breeze - I haven't given up on her yet, will bet her tomorrow.

Doncaster 4:30 - Stanghow, first time cheek pieces, back on turf, hopefully ridden more prominently.

I'm quietly confident an each way Trixie will show a profit on these two and Blitz.

Cunco looks generously priced at 13/2 in today's Classic Trial at Sandown for which his stable-companion, Monarchs Glen, is a warm favourite. His neck second to Coronet in Newmarket's Zetland Stakes last autumn represents very strong form and it is backed up by a really excellent time rating. The fifth horse at Newmarket, Fly At Dawn, has been performing to a high level in Dubai over the winter and already this season the Zetland third (Permian), seventh (Euginio) and eighth (Redicean) have all in some way franked the form of the race. Cunco himself ran only respectably afterwards, albeit in Group One company in France, but that was in November and he'd been on the go a long time by then and he may have been over the top. He won first time out last season so he can clearly go well fresh and the Gosden yard is flying at present. It's a small field this afternoon and there's the possibility that the race might not be truly-run but that looks to me to be in the price. I'd have had him at 7/2 or thereabouts.

Landin looks good tomorrow at Sandown (1:50).

He ran a good 8th place behind Defi in the Triumph Hurdle and was raised to 133.

A big chance now in his first handicap off 130.

I haven't put up a good winner on here for ages... wish me luck. :)

Vyta Du Roc has been a bit of a cliff horse for me this season, and he's been a disappointment. He's fallen to a very reasonable mark though and today's trip should suit.
