York Ebor Meeting

Jockey gave Art Power no chance of getting home there. Weaver suggested it would come on for the run so I presume the ability is still there. It will be interesting to see what kind of sectional mark-up he gets. Halved in price in the lead-up too.

Yes Kinross has gone too short in the betting.

I don't understand why Art Power is 20/1 but with Rohaan now in some decent form he gets the nod!

I reckon Mums Tipple goes close in the 4.10. He is in a good bit of form and 6 furlongs is his trip. Big chance.

Don't **** it up Frankie!!!
Shot myself in the foot not doing Kinross but I felt given the competative field he was underpriced and pretty much remained that way until the final SP came in at 5s.

The bookie thieves mind games beat me.

My reading was this wasn't the real target. A lineup for the Haydock Sprint Cup, hopefully. 20-1 with a few, which I guess is about right given the likely opposition. Could go very well, though.

Marb all the evidence suggests it'll be too fast for Max Vega. I think Beckett had this as a plan since Newbury (and last year). They ran on GF at Goodwood but I'm suspecting it was because they had to get the run in, no other options. And now the day is here, they have to take the shot. The weather hasn't gone the right way.

Pretty sure connections will be surprised if he can pull it off. I'm already on since some time back, so deed is done. Hopefully I'm wrong about the ground and Max was just leading them a misleading dance in the past.

Well done Trawlerman backers.

I was surprised no mention from Euro as he really fancied him at Goodwood when he won.

Smashing finish. Well done Trawlerman backers. I think Euchen Glen was badly ridden and/or unlucky. Mulrennan's decision-making was poor but maybe he couldn't have anticipated doors closing in front of him. But it's very hard to come from the back here on fast ground. I know they said that was the plan but he didn't need to be stone last for so long.

What about the horse who Euro tipped up at Goodwood called Trawlerman. He could just get in the race by the looks of it.

Trawlerman looks likely to improve again from that Goodwood run. He is also in the Lonsdale Cup though. The current favourite Earl Of Tyrone is very interesting aswell.

I need to check his Irish form.

Ah well. At least I mentioned him.

Euchen Glen didnt get the best run through.checked more than once.

Happy to see John Leeper get a place.

I was trying to watch the 340c and the ebor at the same time and saw euchen glen closing and missed the finish at chester.
Didnt matter as mine got beat.

Some week for Alfred Boucher, just a short head away from a terrific double. Well done Trawlerman, interesting tactics by Frankie.

Frankie at his best that was.

He was sandwiched in between two horses in the final furlong kept riding and wins a nose.

And now its tipple time...

Mrs Mulrennan being quietly critical of her husband...

Soulcombe 25/1 for next years Ebor skybet

I've taken it. Off 83 today. He'll go up around 10lbs so will need to go up a further 8lbs to make the cut next August so might well go for the 'win and you're in' race here in May. I'll leave it to Haggas to map out the right programme for him.

1. Sandrine 2. Kinross 3. Pogo at Goodwood 1. Kinross 2. Pogo 3. Sandrine here today at York. There’s a thing.

4.10 - Another competitive race and I’m just taking Summerghand, Gulliver and Commanche Falls against the field and hoping for the best. I’ll probably fouter about with the forecasts and tricasts.

Need to watch that again to see what happened to Gulliver. Cost me the trifecta.

Gulliver will be of interest if it runs in Ireland in a couple of weeks time.
Finished 4th in it last year and is 5lb lower this year and could be more if dropped for today.
€75000 to the winner.

Queen Me would have been the story of the week for me had she won.
She would have been the fourth consecutive Lowther winner following her dam , grand dam and great grand dam.
Beaten a neck at 20/1 I am gutted for her connections.

I'm not ahuge fan of the Dettori 'persona' and the surrounding circus, but his ride on Trawlerman was absolutley outstanding. Kudos to him.

As someone who had a perm with Soulcombe @ 4s, Sumerghand @ 15/2 and Alfred Boucher @ 12s, I very reluctantly agree.

Ouch. Hope you had it each-way.

When he's on his game, Dettori is still the best in the world. It was a great ride on Trawlerman.

Going off at a tangent, who was it that won the November Handicap a few years back, sticking to the far rail in heavy ground?
