Gold Cup 2009 (was: Denman)

i thought Dessie was peerless, but frankly this is the best chaser i have seen...by some margin now

This is one of the greatest training performances too.....
 
With Bobbyjo in place laying the queens till the cow's came home. That was better than his first gold cup too. Lord H just sent a text. All it said was ay ay :D
 
I suspect John Hales might not be too happy about the pace - he was saying beforehand he wanted NC to go on and really turn up the heat. Don't think he was jumping well enough to be able to though.
 
Was brushing through the top of every other fence it seemed alright.

Pace was fairly moderate though. Denman will never beat Kauto Star ridden like that, though I actually think he was ridden very much with next year in mind.
 
How appropriate this thread title is now!!!!!

Although all credit to Denman, in fairness...for a big, big run...
 
Watching the replay i`d say Exotic Dancer has run right to his best there so the race should be rated through him:

185/178/175 at a guess.
 
On a line through My Will and Roll Along, I can see the RP giving Kauto a career best for that. High 180s at least.
