Would love to be Eddie but , unfortunately, have to fly back to Boston. Probably as well because I am scared the Hurricane Fly sculpture will look no better in person. Hope you guys have a great time. If you're over for Cheltenham we should meet up there.

Hi Colm. I will be there. Have a rule that I don't meet the trainer until in the paddock before the race so will be incognito before your race - we should meet in Owners and Trainers around 2.50. I am sure Peter has no idea of any link through this forum. Who else is involved?

With the limited options in Ireland we are going for a very strong Grade 3 tomorrow at Naas with Bay of Freedom. Will be very tough but have come up with some alternative facts: http://www.cheltenhamdream.com/blog-diary/

Great shout Marble.I made it to Gowran today; the wind chill must have been -5c - it wasn't much fun. Nothing came from off the pace all day and, as most horses hate wind, I would forgive some of the more disappointing performances. That being said, Champagne West was a class above and to win...

I think Pleasant Company has a real chance along with Measureofmydreams and Monty's Meadow. Looks a great days racing (even Melon might show up). Hoping to be there.

    Where's the Festival Value?

Entered in 2m hurdle at Navan on Saturday - confined to horses who haven't won a hurdle race, other than a wfa race for 13000 Euros or less, since 3/5/2015. A conditions race and the horse is thrown in (even at 2 miles) - perfect comeback race.

Not looking good across the water

It's a major issue and it's remarkable that the Irish horses have done so well at Cheltenham given the limited opportunities; particularly for novices. Bay of Freedom is not among the top novice chasers but his likely rating is such that there are only three 3-mile chases he could even run in...

    Novice Chasers 2016/2017

It will be interesting to see which way they go with Bellshill. His two runs at Cheltenham have been inexplicably bad and 5 or 6/1 for the RSA is very poor value; particularly given that he may not be an out and out stayer. I can't stop hearing Ruby's words after Yorkhill had won at Cheltenham...

There's nothing in Ireland so we are going to take on O O Seven with Bay of Freedom in the G2 novices tomorrow. It's a tall order and, as always, we travel more in hope than expectation - he still shouldn't be 10/1 though! Here's why we are going and why I have had to change my wardrobe...

    Novice Chasers 2016/2017

You'll have a great time Archie. The beginner's chases at all three look very interesting as do the Conditions chase at Gowran and the Listed Bumper at Navan. Not to mention the Troytown which looks as competitive as always. Enjoy Dublin - if you fancy great Irish Music go to the the Celt...

It most certainly is not - Down Royal do a nice job with owners usually as well. Congratulations Archie.

Thanks Grey. Yes, Peter's got four of their horses and seems very happy with them. Good result all around: nice run from Black Zambezi and a winner for Kevin Sexton. Good to see Gordon Elliott supporting him. Hope that gives him some confidence for tomorrow. Good people do stupid things; he'll...

Belated congratulations to Roddy - great win! Bay of Freedom is taking on some good ones at Wexford tomorrow - not overly confident. There wasn't anything else for a few weeks in Ireland so our hand was forced. He's in good form http://www.cheltenhamdream.com/blog-diary/

Thanks DG. Planning to go for the first time on 20/10 and then will only have 3 Irish courses still to visit. It looks like I should leave my suede loafers at home!
