Aintree

The others were all r e a l l y slow.

I think you're extremely hard on SC. In fact its becoming a bit tiresome.

No-one is trying to say he's the next kauto or Denman, just that he is probably the best staying chaser currently in training.

Just on the subject of Kauto and Denman, I don't think either managed to follow up at Aintree after a Gold Cup outing.

TNO might just be tired after a long season there. His jumping very iffy again though.

Diakali is a decent horse. Our Conor's triumph win looks otherwordly.

OC dominant form over DIakali was at a Shorter distance... But still, I agree that race would have to make you think twice about the over form.

Nah, you can't read the form so literally. And its a discussion that will never have an answer unfortunately.

Warne a massive chance here in the Foxhunters with a good jockey up and backed Brunswick Gold at a big price - not much between the pair on ratings and BG has been impressive in his point and Hunter Chase win this season (for all that the latter was in a tiny field) and he doesn't appear to have lost much (if any) of his old ability. He should give Stu Robinson a great spin though SR isn't one of the top lads in this and touchwood we have a South East winner of the Foxhunters!!

That's what I meant Bear, You cant use OC form at 2m over Diakali v how close Diakali finished today at 2m4f.

But I agree in large with what's posted above that I'm not 100% sure how good that race just was. A tired TNO and an improving Diakali at his apparent preferred distance.

I can't imagine TNO shortening too much for next years Champion Hurdle after today and that's probably just about right..

Coming back to this I do admit that I have a bit of a blind spot with him. Imo his two runs in the Betfred Bowl were similar in terms of the merit he showed. But FL isn't the same horse this time around.

With the better staying chasers mostly being on the sidelines these races just haven't taken as much winning as they normally would do.

strange race, as all the other 3m grade 1s have been this season. fair play to the winner, but he was in the right place. the 2 outsiders looked like tailing off at times and both finished close enough at the end. dynaste definitely stays 3m and may have benefited from a stronger pace.

Dynaste was knackered, and a proper pace would've seen him beaten further.

Yes, sorry. I meant to quote DO's post, not yours!

Thanks Martin
I thought Sam was excellent there

Critics of SWC will be quieter for a wee while, hopefully.

On the other hand, Mossey Joe's rider wants his asre kicked from here to kingdom come. Maybe he wouldn't have won anyway the way he ran out of puff you wonder if he was anywhere near fit.

cracking ride swc and didn't go unbacked. he is superb round that course akin to having 10lb less on the horses backs versus those clowns
