Another fast race?

Another fast race from last week:

2857 Remote 108+p but the handicapper has hit it hard, raising it 14lbs to 103. Will need to improve again to defy that but may well be a Group horse.

Completely at odds with your interpretation of the form, and I'd humbly suggest you're reading too much into that final sectional
Declamation made all at a good pace, over an extended 7f with a stiff uphill finish at Beverley, (form comments read; Made all, ridden clear over 1f out, kept on strongly), and though he may have run a slow final furlong, that was simply a product of the efffort he'd used in going clear previously. Though only raised 3lb for that performance, it's worth noting that the 2nd was also dropped 3.
Small wonder (imo) that, on a flatter track over a slightly shorter distance (albeit slightly slower ground), and in a race run at a steady early pace, that he didn't have the speed to repeat his Beverley performance.
As his entries suggest, he's a horse who needs further, not shorter.

Runs 4.55 Newm (1m), and not without his chances.

I see TIGER CLIFF has been made Ante-Post joint fav for the Northumberland Plate. Four of those in behind him are also in the Plate BIOGRAPHER, who looks likely to go to Royal Ascot instead, DE RIGUEUR, MUBARAZA and RED ORATOR.

DE RIGUEUR out tomorrow in the 2:05 Haydock to test the theory of my rating. Upped in trip by 2 furlongs but the turns could help him stay the distance.

I see it was supported. Newmarket comments......

"Raced keenly, led, ridden 2f out, headed 1f out, no extra and weakened inside final furlong".

I still say at the moment Declamation will be best over a very stiff 6F on GD.

The form comments you quoted above were wrong, the clock proved it. Declamation didn't 'keep on strongly', it actually weakened, while those in behind must have crawled home. Look at the comments for those in behind at Beverley, the slowest type of finishing comment was for the 4th and was described as being 'one paced'. It was an optical illusion.

Not entered anywhere else yet.

i've timed the last 3 furlongs at that meeting Chris and Declamation's race has a finishing speed of 97%..which suggests that they went hard early and all were tired late including the winner

going back to what DO said...i wonder if the race is a real test like that one where they went harder early..rather than an even pace..it takes longer to get over...a bit like the bounce...so the fact he has run twice since has not given the horse time to get over over it..i think the runs of the others in the race since also suggest those behind also had a lot taken out of them.

just a theory

the time was certainly good..its just when will any of those taking part be able to reproduce it

there is another race that may test this theory...

Heaven's Guest race was over fast early in the 7f race at Epsom that was run in a similar time to the listed race won by Well acquainted over 7f..it will be interesting to see if they run in the next week and bomb out too.

The % finishing median over 7f at Epsom is about 103.2%...Well Acquainted was easier early than it looked and the finishing speed was 104.8%..but Heaven's Guest race was 101.3%...neither race was a high speed figure because one race was slightly slow early and teh other very fast early...I think the first 3 in HG's race may well be above their mark but that race could well have taken a lot out of them

Rawaki wasn't off an inch. The 12/1 sp beats the 10s I took this morning so that's a result as well. Plus a free bet in the next.

Not my kind of race but I see he's well handicapped on my own figures and the claimer looks a big positive compared with the girl who rode last time. I'm joining you.

gr8 tipping frisk, you clearly have ur clock in perfect tune unlike other supposed experts!!

i lost on angel gabrial but you saved my weekend, i owe u so much, thanx!

York Saturday (25/5) 4.35 - Pearl Bridge and Nurpur were only a head apart but the time compares very favourably with Kingsgate Choice's in the valuable 5f handicap for older horses 90 mins earlier.
I see Nurpur won today (by 6 lengths at 4/7, but I think it was good odds against earlier so a fancied n/r maybe?). Not much cahnce of Pearl Bridge sneaking under the radar next time, I suppose...
