Ante-Post Punting Plans/Propositions Thread.

Careful. I think the max field for the Gigaset is only about 18. There are a couple of big-money handicaps at Ascot coming up and they narrow the course for the meeting. I haven't checked for myself but the Gigaset might be one of the races affected.

27 ran last year DO and a 3yr old finished 2nd.FIRMAMENTwas 5th and is 10lb lower this time.
Flaming spear is favourite on the back of his good run in the hunt cup.but he got weight from firmament in last years race and now gives him weight

I'll definitely be backing Firmament as I know it's well in and backed it earlier this season. I don't think it's been particularly lucky so far this season.

VOK entered in four races this Saturday including the Gigaset. I reckon they'll run him on Saturday, but no idea which one of the four!

Ive been looking at the gigaset today mate and vale of kent is about 40th so i would think he should get in.
At the moment its not wortth having a bet as they have about 40 horses under 25/1.
My little list that i will be taking a look at are
Vale of kent
Medahim
Via serendipity
Sabador
Raising sand
Firmament.
Especially firmament.
I might have to even study form.

4 of my list still in.
Ive done Vale of kent 25/1
Firmament 20/1
Via serendipity 20/1

Ive been at it again. Done one for the skybet dash at york on saturday over 6f.
EAST STREET REVUE 25/1.
Done most of his running over 5f but possibly his best two runs have been over 6f at newmarket.4th both times but in good races and in one of them he lost 2 places late on and although 4th he was only btn a lenngth.
When its stablemate copper knight won last time he stayed on well for 5th over 5.
Easterby has a couple of others in it so its not certain to run,but 25/1 was too tempting.

When i watch races i look for eyecatchers and BOY IN THE BAR caught my eye and i thought hes close to getting back to winning.
I looked at his last 3 runs and i cant really see why he caught my eye. Mmmm

Looks like he's staying at a mile mate. Your anti post for The Golden Mile might look value after Saturday.

I've backed George of Hearts for that race. In the Britannia Frank had him plum last of 30 horses with 2 1/2 to go. Ended up passed more than 20 horses.

Also on Saturday Forest Ranger is worth a look in the York Stakes. He was poor in the Eclipse but chasing Hawk Bill wasn't the best of strategies. This is more his level and Elarqam is begging to be taken on.

Ive had a good day today, largely thanks t hugh taylor.
So ive gone in again on East Street Revue.
Look a plonker if it dont run.

I've taken some sickness insurance on September for the Arc at 50/1.

As far as I can see her only entries are all G1s and she was clearly very highly thought of last season. Injury has forced an autumn campaign and what better target than the race in which fillies have such a good record?

Well, sounds like I did well to get a tenner each way just now on Vale Of Kent for The Golden Mile with "Spoilsports" ha!

I'd be happy with a win or first three finish this Saturday, (assuming he goes for the handicap Outsider mentioned with Moore booked).

Even a first three finish would set him up nicely for the big one at Goodwood for which he is surely overpriced at 25/1....

Also had a tenner each way on Top Score in The Lennox. See how it goes...

Im beginning to hate mark johnson.i did vale of kent and it doesnt look like its going in the gigaset,so i had a go on masham star and now find that one down to run on friday for 9 grand. I give up he will probably win it now with Cardsharpe just to p"ss me off some more.

Vale Of Kent doesn't look to be declared for any race on Saturday. Golden Mile looks like his intended target. Unlucky Outsider.

Bunbury Cup.

Mukalal. 40/1. A stab at a big priced horse, whose each way chance is much better than 40/1 though. Mukalal is trained by Marcus Tregoning. He has already beaten the Duke Of Cambridge second, Tribute Act .That horse is rated 106 now. Also, Sea Fox was third that day, but has finished third in The Victoria Cup this season. So the form is excellent. Mukalal had a wind operation over the winter and probably needed the run last time when finishing down the field on his first start this season. He could fare a lot better in a race like the Bunbury Cup. Mukalal is number 33 or 34 on the list, so needs a few to come out to get a run, but that is quite possible. See what happens in the next couple weeks. 40/1 ATM.

You have to do it dont we.33/1

Nah I'm feeling the opposite to be fair. Once something lets me down like that I try not think 'they're due', and don't follow them off a cliff! Until I see Mukalal put in a good run I wouldn't think of having a proper bet on him.

Horses that finish nearly stone last rarely come out two weeks later and win a race like this, but anything is possible...
