Bloodstock News

Could see Unsung Heroine prominent in next years Melbourne Cup.

Lightly raced and seems to handle the quicker ground.

Does anyone know any details of where the various stallions based at Scarvagh Stud are being moved to?

Alfie Buller is keeping his favourite, Generous, as his own horse and will offer coverings to him. Plans for the others are still being finalised.

Thanks for that - he was the one I was most interested in!

They were supposed to be having Black Sam Bellamy but I believe he's now gone to Shade Oak Stud?

Darley have dropped there prices but has anyone heard of any outstanding bargains being offered by any of the others in this tough economic climate ?

They have dropped prices but what they are also doing is being much tigher on which mares they let into their stallions. Something they should have done a long time ago I think - but better late than never. However, they have gone VERY tight now and some decent mares are being turned away too.

In early days they virtually gave Kayf Tara away in 3 for the price of 2 deals, and older stallions like Mtoto were covering point to point mares.

Back on subject I know of no other deals ......

The 2000 Guineas thread has got me thinking about the flat alot. Some really interesting sires having their first runners this coming season.

Dubawi, Shamardal, Oratorio, Footstepsinthesand, Motivator...think they look a more promising bunch in terms of classic/Group 1 producers in the long term than last seasons first season sires.

Type to do well at stud, stunning looking animal now...but as I said a few good ones this season (in prospect of course).

That's quite a strange one.

Well, Michael Andree, who btw is Coolmores German representative, is anything if not shrewd. There will most certainly some financial logic behind it, assume he owns a share, gets his nominations and the stallion far better opportunities than he would ever get in germany. who are thay to ponder transport costs, etc. ....
