King George Vl chase

I am starting to question whether Spillane's does really need it that soft.

Perhaps Mangan has exaggerated it all along? More due to wanting to wrap the horse up in cotton wool than anything else.

Plenty of talent in that field but I think quite a few of those horses are regressing as opposed to progressing.

Il Est Francais appeals given how he ran at Kempton previously but in my opinion there is a huge question mark over which Il Est Francais turns up - the one who romped home at Kempton or the one that has been largely inconsistent in France.

Grey Dawning shaped well in the Betfair but just ran out of gas in pretty horrendous conditions so maybe has a squeak and Spillane's Tower ran really well LTO but maybe inconvenienced by the ground.

L'Homme Presse at around 10s might get a few pennies!

Spillane's and Il Est Francias if I'm allowed two against the field.

I actually think I'll probably stick Spillane in the yankee if he does take his chance.

It's a case of which one would I kick myself more if it won and I wasn't on it.

Spillane no doubt!

I reckon Jimmy's been pulling my leg all month about the ground.

I can't help thinking the betting for this race is all wrong.

I don't think the Spillane's Tower form can be taken at face value.

I thought at the start of the season that IEF was the one for this having been so impressive here as a novice last year but he now has questions to answer.

At much bigger prices the likes of Bravemansgame and L'Homme Presse have, for me, more convincing credentials.

Corbetts Cross might well have been flattered by his Aintree form too.

Juntos Ganamos's French rating is on a par with IEF's but is several times the price.

The thing that worries me with Spillanes tower is taking at face value form of 3 mile horses running over 2m4f on their first run of the season. On all known form Fast or slow should've beaten Gallopin that day and it's been found since that he'd picked up an injury supposedly from that race. Spillanes came up to fact to file as if he was going to pass but just seemed to empty right at the end of the race. For me that's not terminal to his chances here but I like you Maurice wouldn't have him favourite. You could be right about Bravemansgame as an event I'd be disappointed if he won but I certainly think he sets a Standard around here that few of these have reached yet. The problem I'd have with Le homme presse (also a horse I like a lot) was last time it ran in this it was beaten when falling I can't see the horse improving from that at 9.

I'd been out the loop for a few years and the Betfair was the first time I'd come across Grey Dawning when watching that my initial reaction was he dots up in the King George he looks the right type. I'd have hoped for slightly better ground here than at Haydock but has it gone a little too much the other way ? Will it be a bit quick for him and does it bring the Frenchy back into it ?

The whacker looks a lively outsider. Although a poor 4th last year He came here off the back of pulling up in the paddy power rather than arriving here off the back of a decent win in the Charlie hall. And the fact he missed the betfair brings him here fresher and he certainly stays well which can't be said of all of these. Maybe the track doesn't suit but at the price he'd probably be worth one last crack here.

Banbridge has he ever actually been top class ? Well if you can beat Pic d hory righthanded as he did here last year you're certainly close to being but his price when it's his first attempt at 3 mile like Maurice has pointed out the betting looks a bit upside down but then 99% of the time I'll take the proven over the potential.

P.s Hope Constitution is fully back to his best for Tanlic. It certainly isn't my way of doing business but I admire the ball's of an all in plunge so I hope it pays off.

Thanks for your concern but to keep the record straight my large bet is for the Champion Hurdle , If Constitution Hill wins today great if he runs her very close I will still be a happy chappy. I have the grand total of 12 pounds on him to win today

I did know that Tanlic but Lossie is probably his most serious adversary come the Champion Hurdle and if he turns her over today you'd only imagine he'd go forward from whatever he does here.
