Miling Division 2010

I think it was a slow run race , siyouini had the race to suit

Fuisse is a nice horse but pre race should not have helped,
Rio run to his best on 120

about Lope de Vega, race not suit but the horse must have a problem

About Paco, bad ride but still not sure he would have won.Maybe feeling the effects on a hard race on very soft ground at Deaville

About Rip here, yesterday he underperform and not sure he would have won in this slow run race.

Dick Turpins optimum conditions are 7f-1m g/soft/soft, up with or making the running. The owner took a punt in the Juddmonte because Richard Hughes convinced him he would get 10f. There were certainly doubts about his stamina, which were proven and Hughsie tried to hold him up to get the trip. He pulled so hard in the early stages of the Juddmonte that it was clear from an early stage of the race he wasn't going to be a contender, before any stamina doubts were answered. I for one can't understand why they didn't let him sit up with the pace especially if the jockey was so convinced he'd get the trip. I was told the Juddmonte took a lot out of him as Hughsie was quite hard on him just to get 5th and if you watch the race again D.T. was giving his all as he's all heart. I was also told it was very unlikely he would run again this season as they thinking about next year for him. Just days after this I recieved the e-mail that all may not be lost and they were considering running him again and the 7f race at the Arc meeting was being considered, I'll try and get an update on his welfare later this week, but I am worried as he has had a long season contesting top races.

How can rdlp be a reasonable yardstick whenb he's seemingly been in and out of love with the game? But its good to see him back. No judgement can, be made on pbs run. He didn't have a run I certainly wouldn't fhancy rvw to bsat " this mob" over seven. That's too short for him now

You know what he is though, he's a Group 2/3 animal at his peak (which he's at the present) but I take your point.

Just seen the race and I have to say while he did not really get a run up the rail I do not think he was travelling as well as he should have been. Clearer run and I am pretty sure he still would have lost.

Perhaps the run in testing conditions last time has taken the edge off him.

Precisely as I saw it.

PB travels well off a fast pace he has tended to need rousting but then picks up off a slower pace - the Hungerford when he was a 3 year old comes to mind.

Ardross going back to his three year old career? The horse hack canters throughout his races but did not today for whatever reason.

QEII held up well after today's confirmation stage. Makfi still in there.

Shame no Poet's Voice, and a little strange after their comments post-Celebration mile.

You're probably right as it would be bizarre for Godolphin to take him out at this stage.

Delegator is an interesting one, but I'd love to see him go for the Foret - will always be that bit outstayed at a mile at the top level for me.

Dick Turpin - e-mail

No news really - things pretty much stand as they were, below is the latest situation.

He is being given a break and if he shows no signs of warming to training then he will be saved for next year's campaign. The only real race being considered at this time is on the Arc card but we shall have to see.

Can't see him being quick enough to trouble CC and Makfi if they are on form.

The Champion Stakes would be much the best race for him .

I would still be amazed to see Rip actually turn out in the QE II.

when we all commented on teh York race..the concensus was that we all thought he achieved something really special there by coming from where he was 2 out..at a track like York where its hard to make ground at best of times..maybe it took a lot out of him you know
