Galileo when did Richard Hannon Jnr say that about Dick Turpin? I only spoke with connections a few days ago and they said he was very unlikely to run again this season

I should have checked my e-mail - just seen this message:

"All might not be lost on DT this year as he could run in the 7f race on the Arc card.

We shall see."

Are the final declarations for the race - only Lope de Vega looks a threat to Paco.

In the interview with Nick Luck earlier with the bloke from the stud that is going to stand him insisted he did not run apparently

Makfi? I was busy at work and missed that. Is he not running again then?!

Seems madness, he's on the upgrade FFS.

Agreed but I can't see them taking many chances.

Oh the firms love shortening a Hannon animal up, unfortunately they may have spotted the mediocre form of the yard. Lope has a poor run to overcome too.

Would be something like (104%) this myself:

Paco 15/8
LDV 5/2
RDLP 11/2
Siyouni 6/1
Fuisse 14/1
Via Medici 20/1

Imagine most firms will go shorter than 15/8 Paco Boy. His form is top class and while LDV looked good he surely has some questions to answer now. PB's last run would be good enough to win this I think but he is likely to be better than that on this better ground.

I think 15/8 Paco Boy is a shade big actually, Gamla. I wouldn't really trust the form of either this year's Poulains (too strong a pace) or Jockey Club (pace slowed dramatically swinging into the straight) despite it looking strong form at face value. I also think Siyouni is made for ten furlongs.

Given my record of betting the current classic generation both of those assertions are probably wildly inaccurate, mind.

Three winners for the Hannon yard yesterday so perhaps they are coming out of their mini-slump ?

Makfi apparently goes for the Breeders Cup Mile but may run in the QEII- the stud owner breezily declared him to be the best miler in Europe so now we want to prove he is the best in the world- declaring him to be so on the basis of a win on very soft ground in the Marois strikes me as hubris .

could not be also that the horse won easily the Guineas beating a supposed champion in Canford?

Makfi is the top 3yo so far for me by a long way.

CC stuffed him at Ascot and anyone with a brain cell would realise that both DT and CC are much improved - CC has learned to settle for a start .

To suggest that the Jacques le Marois accurately reflects Makfi's superiority over Goldikova is fanciful.

my only brain cell says me Makfi has won the 2 most important mile races of the season and he is clear in my ratings well ahead of Canford and of course Dick Turpin.

Canford is as overrated as Rock Of Gibraltar was in his year.

some points

A. one trained by patient Delzangles, the other 2 by the 2yo specialist.

B. Makfi by Dubawi, the others by Arakan and Tagula

C. Makfi 5 starts , Canford 8 and DT 12.

D. Makfi making debut on October last year and Canfor doing it in mid May and precocious to win in the Royal Ascot meeting

which one has more scope and is more likely to improve?

about the form
Canford last performances for what he has been hailed as the new Miesque is beating Free Judgement at the Curragh, then beating Pat Edderys horse by a length and finally beating a not fully fit Rip Van Wikle.
