Noted in running

Post #35 Peur De Rien runs tomorrow 2:10 Warwick early price 9/1 - since the post he was pulled up at Huntingdon after slipping and blundering his way over several fences. The market may give an indication of chances this time.

Bit if support, race quite well ‘til mistakes and then pulled up.

ALLMANKIND

Warwick 6 November 2020
Stan Mellor Memorial Novices' Chase (GBB Race)
2m, Class 3, £7,121.24
Going: Good

After an expensive (for me) trip over hurdles at Cheltenham a couple of weeks ago Allmankind took to chasing here like the manner born. A forceful and powerful performance. I think we’ll hear a lot more of him.

MISTER COFFEE

Sandown. 8 November 2020
Kingston Handicap Hurdle (Challenger Two Mile Hurdle Series Qualifier)
2m, Class 3, £9,747
Going: Soft

Not very original, I know, but I can’t look further than Mister Coffee today. He was held up last until approaching the second last after which he just breezed past his opponents as if they were just trotting to run clear in the run in and win by five lengths as comfortably as you like. Pretty impressive.

Well, he beat everything bar the 125/1, 33/1 and 50/1 shots . No excuses, one of the first to come under pressure and showed very little. I’m thinking seriously of packing in the flat for now and concentrating on the jumps and the upcoming season. Jumpers are certainly saving me from the poor house atm. So many of the flat horses seem to have gone over the top and running nowhere near their earlier form although it might just be that my judgement has gone seriously awry. The latter is probably the odds on shot!

And MITHRAS won today 5/4. Hope desert was paying attention - I wasn’t.

Post #120 Grand Mogul - early price 11/4

Both run in 3:35 Cheltenham tomorrow

PROTEKTORAT

SSS Super Alloys Supports Racing Welfare Novices' Chase (GBB Race)

Going: Good To Soft

Looked good, jumped good, ran good, won good. What more can you say - impressive and destined for top level.

ELDORADO ALLEN

Follow@WillHillRacing On Twitter Novices' Chase (GBB Race)
2m½f, Class 3, £8,057.52
Going: Good To Soft

The Tizzards are expecting great things from Eldorado Allen and he certainly started his chasing career impressively with a good win over the odds on favourite despite a near catastrophic blunder at the last. Other than that stumble he jumped very well and looked the part throughout. I’d be very surprised if he didn’t go on to better things and he’s definitely one to follow.

Won 13/2

ADAGIO

Cheltenham 14 November 2020
JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle (Registered As The Prestbury Juvenile Hurdle) (Grade 2) (GBB Race)
2m½f, Class 1, £14,807
Going: Good

The winning favourite is reckoned to be one of the best juveniles seen out so far. Adagio lost nothing in defeat - 2nd - and he certainly jumped more cleanly than in his earlier win. The rest of the field were strung out behind him and I think he has bags of potential. Be interesting to see what BH has to say in his Juveniles thread.

SIZABLE SAM

Wincanton 19 November 2020
Lenny Roberts Memorial Trophy Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race) (Div I)
2m5½f, Class 4, £3,768.84
Going: Good To Soft

A “noted in betting” rather than running, although he ran a sound enough race into second place. A few weeks ago he was due to run at Chepstow, the early price of 9/2 was snapped upped within minutes and he finished up at 2/1 when he was withdrawn 20 minutes before the off. This time he opened at 5/2 and was backed down to 13/8 favourite. Seems like there’s a bit of cash needing to be recovered.

ESPOIR DE GUYE - 137

Ascot 20 November 2020
Coral Handicap Chase
2m5f, Class 2, £15,640
Going: Soft

Espoir de Guye’s jumping was excellent and served him very well. He raced close up throughout, led over the last (2nd last) and with the first three pulling well clear did just enough to hold the second. He had drifted in the betting but my interest was re-kindled when late money brought him to 5/2 fav. Venetia Williams’ horses do not seem to be firing on all cylinders yet so it is likely that Espoir De Guye will come on for the run.

HAMILTON’S FANTASY - 138

Coral Supporting Prostate Cancer UK Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race (GBB Race)
1m7½f, Class 4, £3,898.80
Going: Soft

Henderson said she will be going over obstacles very, very soon but he wanted to get a run into her in a bumper for some education. For an educational run she performed pretty well. She moved into the lead in the straight finishing strongly, but collared in the last hundred yards without being knocked about a lot. Shouldn’t be long before she’s out again over hurdles and her debut will be interesting.

For pretty good horsemanship see if you can get to see the 13:18 at Uttoxeter yesterday. Gavin Sheehan lost his irons (kicked out after pin came out of leathers) soon after the start and rode the race with legs dangling to come fourth. Says a lot for Gavin’s skill and quite a lot for the horse - Anythingforlove - to have finished at all let alone in fourth place.

SAM BARTON

Hereford 25 November 2020
Dreams Come True At OldGoldRacing.com Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race) (Div I)
2m3½f, Class 4, £3,768.84
Going: Soft

Sam Barton, who was a warm order coming in from 4/1 to 9/4 fav during the morning (started 9/2), raced behind the leaders and challenged coming into the last when he touched down just ahead of the eventual 50/1 !!! winner who rallied to relegate Sam Barton to second place. Nonetheless, it was a good run and I don’t think he’ll be long going one better.

I imagine Nicholls will be very, very happy with Next Destination there. Travelled supremely well all the way through and was foot perfect over his obstacles given his absence.

Will be some 3m chaser.

Won today at Newbury 11/8

Excerpt from one of my synopses yesterday:

Last time, Lord Lamington’s jockey appeared to deliberately drop the horse out just when it looked likely to mount a challenge and is probably a lot better than we saw. However, the trainer said this week he is “definitely on too high a mark” so that probably explains the market weakness. I’m going to let him go.

Drifted to 80/1, travelled well off the midfield, came "with a rush" around the outside turning for home and within a hundred yards the jockey was putting the brakes on again, eventually looking down at the horse's legs as if to pretend something was amiss and soon pulled up.

I wish I knew what they were planning with this one. It will come down 5lbs for this and I can't really see it being anything like the Schweppes as it wouldn't make the cut but when the money comes for it I'll be on.
