Novice Chasers 2015/16

For obvious reasons I'm happy VDR won that but that ride on Minella Rocco was a little suspect.

Jonjo and JP get a lot of stick on here but they clearly could have landed a coup on Minella Rocco - he was a touch unlucky there .

Very taking performance I thought there by VDR, Efficient jumping and put it to bed with ease.

Yes I agree just felt Fehily was unlucky that Vyta de Roc rolled one way and then the other in front of him . Minella Rocco 's mark likely to go up a great deal for that .

Ok,with authority then :)
VDR often finds well for pressure so the runner up was never a serious danger
It was mainly the way he travelled and his neat jumping that impressed me.

Vedettariat put in a very decent speed figure when winning by 29 lengths yesterday..ground was really bad though at -99. I got it fastest figure on the card ...and was 12 seconds faster than Salsify carrying 11lb more.

Interesting performance

Why-definite trier in my opinion-will be interesting to see his festival target.

Being sarcastic LUKE?

I agree with TheBear, it looked fierce suspect to my eye.
Very interesting horse. One to keep onside at the festival for sure.

Best horse clearly won. The runner up was being asked a question some way out. Throw in it wasn't the best ride Jacob has given one.

Leaning towards the RSA.

Good stuff
I was quite taken by him on Saturday, it should be a good duel between him and MOT
The ground will be so important here, I've a feeling No More Heroes is a real winter beast that likes it deep.

I've been away for a while and just catching up on the racing. Watching the re-run of the Reynoldstown, my first impression was it seemed to fall apart a bit with Onenightinvienna never looking happy, Drumacoo disappointing and Le Mecury stopping after brushing through the last. I’d be surprised if Vyta du Roc was up to championship class

Like the horse myself, you'd want a big price for the RSA though. Looks mistake prone, although that could be just a memory hold over from the Neptune.

No-I genuinely think he has a winning chance at the festival in the 4 miler.

Took 25/1 ew on VDR after watching a few replays of Cheltenham including last years Neptune where he would've been a clear 2nd only for that mistake at the last where he completely lost his place. As it was he finished 4th under hands and heels staying on strongly. The win last Saturday, which I backed at 3s, makes that look ok now. My main bet in the race is MOT who I feel is nailed on but if he could knick a place then I'd be very happy.

I think Henderson has been clever campaigning this fella. He's not a speedy sort but was given 2m & 2m3f as his early targets to keep him sharp. He won the Bangor race before going down a length to Bouvreuil giving him 11lbs. He's been crying out for a trip & got that Saturday & coped with it well even allowing for trouble in running. Good to hear henderson say today he'd have a squeak in the RSA. Looks like he's definitely going this route.

Vyta Du Roc? Or Minella Rocco?

I thought Minella Rocco was given a ride with 'the next day' in mind. Certainly more so than VDR.

Was it Fehily onbaord? Whoever it was hardly touched him after jumping the last. He'd have got into the 3m handicap on day 1 off his mark prior to Saturdays run so not sure what was going on. Only think I can come up with is ensuring he's still a nice price for whatever he goes for.

It makes no sense for Minella Rocco to be a non-trier on Saturday - his mark for winning by half a length would be scarcely higher than being beaten half a length . If they wanted to protect his mark the last thing you do is run him in the Reynoldstown !

Maybe not to protect his mark. It just looked to me like Fehily didn't want the horse going to the well. It won't surprise me if the form is reversed at the festival.

Which would put him in the opening day handicap with around 11st. That would look appealing but the owner already has/had the favourite for that in Minella Foru so is MR likely to go there too ?.

He's also prominently quoted for the 4 miler but 143 would surely be too appealing to pass over in favor of a level weights event.
