Novice Chasers 2020 / 2021

Other than the obstacles, I actually think he is unbeatable. It’s also highly likely the race is going to be run to suit.

We’re lucky that we have some special novice chasers this season. Let’s just hope they all get there fit and well, and we see the three novice champions from last season win the corresponding novice chases the following season for the first time in Cheltenham Festival history.

Anyone think Willies poke can cause some problems? He looks very good. Having said that, Shishkin looks ridiculous.

Energumene is good in his own right, but second best you'd think. There are also doubts about whether he can perform to the same level on better ground. It's also taken them long enough to figure out this is his trip.

What I will say is he's a more credible rival than anything Envoi Allen is likely to face, unless he goes up in trip and faces EA, which I suppose isn't completely out of the question. I don't think Willie has actually committed Energumene to this race yet, and he has the likes of Franco de Port and Unexcepted to consider too?

I'm not sure Henderson ever leaves his horses too far below peak fitness. His record off breaks is one of the best.

I think he treats each horse according to its targets.

I think the likes of Buveur D'Air would have been a bit shorter of work than a handicapper (I'm thinking the likes of Craigneiche the other week).

He's happy to roll out the industry cliches when they get beat (eg 'there's only so much you can do at home') but when there's big money going they get there trained to the minute.

Henderson’s main strength is getting horses to the boil just at the right time. In the meantime they’ll mostly be simmering when they run, but he will never want them over-strained with a race too hard for where they are. That’s why Nico comes in for so much stick.

Shishkin doesnt look a monster on appearance but his athleticism on track catches the eye

He could be one of them who does the needful and if ever comes a time we'll see how good he is

On the day of Paul Haigh’s passing, have a look at James Hill’s RFO piece on the Marsh Chase, for an idea of just how far UK racing journalism has gone wrong.

It is the most ill-considered, guessy, poorly-argued, fountain of fu*cking bullsh*it I have read in a long while.

Paul Kealy has been coming to defend James Hill all week, equating those expressing similar sentiments to yours above, with the very worst on twitter - those who wish cancer on trainers kids etc. "If you want to see why there are religious fundamentalist willing to kill and trumpism see the reaction to James Hill's piece."

James Hill is desperate. It reminded me of something I would piece together aged 8.

Kealy noticably not going remotely-near the substance of the piece, HW - probably because he knows it is bilge of the highest order.

Indefensible. But I dislike him crying foul when people are a) calling out utter nonsense and b) showing far more racing nous than Lawney Hill's son yet not getting paid by RP to produce it. Its far cry from 'trolling' yet he wants to lump the two together.

Was just coming on to say the same thing, jaysus it is embarrassing, but I guess it has got him the attention that he was seeking

Is he really Lawney Hill’s son? Seriously?

JFC.

Why does this not surprise me.

A description of #shitbox is nowadays far too charitable for the RP.

I genuinely fu*cking despair.

Well Kealy has stuck up the same selection. Imagine the scenes if it happened

Hardly the point though, Frankel.

Odds-on chances do get beat; but rarely because of the idiotic reasons offered by James Hill.

Here is a stone-cold fact for you.

Every contributor to this forum, would have made a better case for opposing Envoi Allen than this alleged ‘professional’.....every single one.

They have restrictions of course but Skybet have this morning boosted the Shishkin/Envoi Allen double to 7/2 and in the boost, both are NRNB

Might just be that you've already backed it or aren't eligible Tiggers.

With these, if you've already had your max and re-add to a betting slip it shows as suspended

Hope your max is more than mine fellas. Limited to a lousy £5

Wild what you can bet on.

Envoi Allen to win without the jockey using the whip, 4/1
Shiskin and Envoi Allen both to win without without the jockey using the whip 25/1
Shiskin and Envoi both to break the track record 150/1

Can’t believe people request this rubbish
