Royal Ascot 2022

Thanks. Didn’t notice it was boosted. B******s have limited me to £5 though

I had a small bet on Twilight Calls straight after he was beaten in the Palace House from a bad draw. He's a lot shorter now but I wouldn't call it a confident pick, I haven't topped up.

He does look best of the rest but my worry with him is he needs to be held up.

You simply can't afford to give this American horse too much of a start because up to now he simply doesn't stop.

To beat him you'd have to be no further back than a length or two and be within tackling distance from flag fall.

Even Nature Strip might not be able to go with him although I do think he might take to the course better than Golden Pal.

If I could get 4/6 or so the first 4 places Twighlight Calls I'd be happy to have apunt on him because he will be finishing while the others will be goosed after 3 furlongs trying to keep up.

I’d suggest the opposite has looked the case, at least on both British runs.

He may well have strengthed with age and see it out better but he’s so fast over a sharp 5f that anyone hoping to get him beaten will be relying on him fading in the last 100 yards again over a stiff 5

He's improved by leaps and bounds since York. His win at Keenland was actually over 5 1/2 furlongs and he actually picked up for a couple of smacks and drew further clear in the lasy 1/2 furlong.

Absolutely no sign of him stopping but if he does Nature Strip will eat him alive.:D

I would much prefer if nature Strip won as I have followed him since day 1 but the yank scares me if not you.

Maybe because of the quote post Chester

“He's in the big races there [Gold Cup and Hardwicke] and we'll see how he comes out of Chester before deciding which way we'll go” Aidan O'Brien, trainer.

Yeah Cleveland is on an upward curve but what race will he go for..

I backed Inchicore for the Copper Horse earlier in an anti post yankee for the meeting.

I have had my eye on her for a while. She won well the last day getting up late and 20s will do me nicely. I reckon she has come good at the perfect time.

She could start single figures if declared this Sunday I reckon.

Some cracking anti post prices floating about for the meeting at the moment.

There is:
Foxes Tales 12s for the Wolferton - Didn't stay lto oppo is Addeybb who won't run on quick ground and honestly might not be the horse he was. Cadillac a Harrington beast sure to be overbet like Climate was the other week at Haydock, something called Shining Blue, a Suroor who's been winning novice races at Ripon and Mohaafeth who runs at York tomorrow.

Ottoman Fleet 9/2 Edward VII - Won a nice race at Newmarket Guineas weekend over 10f. Bred to relish 12f+. Oppo acc to market is Westover who won't run, Francisco Clemente who beat a 7yo hurdler lto, a Varian who won a novice at Newcastle and the Queen's hype horse who should have won the Derby according to Chamberlain

He is very blue on oddschecker. Maybe he will go for the Copper Horse then.

RP Mini Stable Tour

Cleveland
Copper Horse Stakes

We've always liked him and we always knew he was a very classy horse. He has plenty of class and he stays well. He probably won't go for the Gold Cup and will go for one of the staying handicaps instead.

Could that be code for "we're putting him away for the Ebor"?

You love a plot DO.

He’s entered in the Copper Horse and is blue everywhere so I’d say he runs.

DO's head is full off wee wheels:lol:.......He's been backed from 10/1 to 7/2 and beginning to look like the handicap banker of the meeting

A big market move for the American horse Slipstream in the Commonwealth.
I took a good price, (14/1) I think yesterday on my anti post yankee. I like his chances a lot. I would however prefer it if Aidan took Tenebrism elsewhere as she was on my shortlist.

I am not sure if Slipstream has been tipped up by someone of influence but I thought the market move today was definately worth flagging up.

Our “misspent” childhoods sound vastly different.

The school was locked at the weekend and during the holidays so the back of the bike sheds was unavailable and my father usually accompanied me to the snooker hall.

(Fortunately he never accompanied me round the back of the bike sheds...)

I'm very tempted to follow you with Foxes Tales although West End Charmer was an eyecatcher the last day when finishing fast against Majestic Dawn. I think I will wait for final decs.

Did you mention First Folio a while back for the Wokingham, Euro?

I liked what he did early last season so have had to keep the faith for the Wokingham.

I have also been a Scope fan for a while, but I still think he will want it good to soft or softer over this extended trip and if the ground doesn't come up that way I will be looking for a proven good to firm horse in The Gold Cup.

I'm on First Folio yes.

The market for the Wolferton is so weak at the front end I might play more than just Foxes Tales.

I thought I found one for the Hunt Cup in Star of Orion but Beckett hasn't got a claimer on and although 98 is a winnable mark (came down 2lbs for his run in the Vic Cup even though he was badly drawn) I have a feeling Ralph wants another couple of pounds off and then he'll put a claimer on for the International he was 2nd in last year. Also probably better at 7 than 8.
