Royal Ascot

Trumpet Major is one of my many fancies.
Sweet Lightning (sickness insurance)
Pacific Heights (very strong fancy)
Here Comes When (strong)
Ocean Tempest (strong)
Starboard (like TM, only even longer below best OR)

And I'm still worried about the Godolphin pair.

I was emphatic about Abseil for the Hunt Cup in the minutes after his Epsom win and nothing has changed my mind since. He looked to me like he won with a lot in hand despite not liking the track. 6.8 on Betfair is bigger than I thought he would end up, and I think is huge value. Brilliantly bred, I'd be disappointed if he didn't end up a decent Group 2 horse. Running off 97 (effectively) he has to have a great, great chance. Big bet.

Hopefully Oisin Murphy will make good use of his claim in Handicaps today.
Big Time interesting in Jersey; a bull of a horse that needs fast going.
No talk here about Domination's win yesterday; Byrnes must cleaned up on the Exchanges.
Fran Berry's ride the ride of the week so far (even if I am talking through my pocket!)
Prince Of Wales some race to look forward to.

I was not happy with that result yesterday. I backed Domination in the Ces last year and was on Another Cocktail (win only) yesterday. Hrrrummphhh...

I haven't got a clue about the handicaps; looking for guidance.

The Hunt Cup looks very tough but there are good place terms available and because of the price of the fav good odds about others in the race. I've backed Gabrial's Kaka because I have a bit of a hard-on for Koukash's horses this year (I'll be having a major cut at Angel Gabrial when the Pitman Derby's odds come out) and he has his conditions today. Prince of Johanne has won it in the past and 28s is fair.

Just spending the interest element in Austria and Italy, DO.

Was in Italy last year when Annecdote 4.25,drawn 3/27, flew in at a nice price at Ascot and made a reasonable contribution to expenses ( I got embarrassingly drunk!) One of my, and seemingly the forum's, favourites she goes today on ground that suits in a higher grade. I initially missed her involvement as I don't normally back in this type of race largely because I don't get the return I get elsewhere. So here's hoping today she proves she's a course specialist.

On a line through The Queens Sea Shanty, Santefisio is handicapped to go well in The Royal Hunt Cup. Half a stone or thereabouts better off for a 3/4 length beating, there's a possibility he could run a big race.

Odisseia (NAP) would be my best bet of the day in the last taking prices into consideration. As we witnessed yesterday her trainer knows how to bag a winner at this meeting. This horse looks the best of the improving/well handicapped types.

Sudirman looks a massive price in the Jersey. Disappointing the last twice but both those on soft. Gets the faster ground he needs today
25/1 4 places with B365

I had a very serious look at Santefisio but he ran in this last year before running in the 7f race a day or two later in which he was very unlucky, finishing some way clear on the wrong side.

Buick jocked off Western Hymn - unless he had chosen to ride the admittedly once touted stable companion rated 22lb lower and beaten in a Leicester handicap ?

Tommy Stack doesn't usually send complete nags over and Waltzing Matilda in the first will be an interesting runner. He only has one more runner, Friday and that looks the worse of the two. Be interesting to see how this one runs as last time out it beat Booker by half a length - runs in the 1735 tonight.

Might have an each way nibble at the price, other than Treve it looks a difficult card today

a few stats for the Jersey stakes

don't bet higher draw than 16
don't back anything that ran at Epsom LTO
don't back a horse down in distance
don't back the favourite or anything above 20/1

my fancies based on those stats and a bit of form reading are

GIOVANNI BOLDINI backed at 14.5
SUDIRMAN backed at 24.0
TOOFI backed at 27.0

I think high draw is an advantage in any race run in the straight.

My main bet of the Meeting is Magician, took him antepost and today Ew

Integral should win too and the french fillie for the exacta.

Graceful grit is very high in the last and will run very well, Muteela is the main danger.

Top racing today.

That distance stat sounds like a load of sh1te to me.

Last two winners had run in a Guineas. As had Ouqba and Tariq.

I make that four out of the last six winners dropped down from 8f. Not to mention Proclamation and Mozart, off the top of my head this century.

I would bet more winners have run over a mile than not.

Muwaary wins this.

draw stats for this race are poor for high..but it depends on selective watering i suppose

it were only a bit of fun Bar..i hate the jersey

Ah well.....top 3 all ran over a mile.

The winner looks to be a very good horse. Further evidence of the worth of the Kingman form.

Difficult to get any clues on the draw from that.

I think Muwaary might be worth a go in the July Cup.
