I also on occasion post stakes to give an ego boost to someone who suggests we back something. It's the ultimate badge of honour and sign of respect for the original poster in my world.

Had a few mins the other day and got the videos out. Nothing impressed me more than Wihfull Thinking. He's a wonderful jumper and I think 2m could be the making of him. He was positevley running out Johnson's hands throughout at Aintree and the Punchestown form is superb, not only through Blazing Tempo, but look what he did to the very consistent Swing Bill, positively breaking him.

He's already genuinely a mid-160's chaser, and doesn't have a great deal to find to mix it even with the very best. Have backed tomorrow, and in the Champion Chase, and in a double.

I like Sizing Europe as he's done me well at Cheltenham and have had some 14/1 for TC & CC double earlier in the week. Like DJ, I have a feeling that Wishfull Thinking may improve for the Cheltenham comeback and may jump them into submission around here, will back him to win today & take the 25/1 on the double.

Are the people backing Kauto Stone into the price he is on Betfair dyslectic?

It seems relentless and has probably gained momentum with the rain. I couldn't back him to win today at such a price, or probably even double it, but the 33/1 for TC & CC double will give a little interest if he were to win.

I've taken prices about each of the front 3 completing the double to varying stakes and prices, Sizing would be most likely to shorten dramatically I would say, but I have a sneaky feeling we may see a bold front running victory from Wishfull Thinking today.

I agree about the ride Wishfull Thinking got, it was a head-scratcher. Is Richard Johnson unable to restrain him or did he want to go that pace?

But Sizing Europe would have won anyway. A real looker, and top class.

I expect they were trying to exploit a perceived stamina superiority. Not executed well though (I'm assuming the horse is okay). They should be looking at settling Wishfull rather than buzzing him up.

De Bromhead said: "That was brilliant. He jumped the second down the back a bit slow and that got me a little worried, but he winged the fence six from home and started to canter when the rest were struggling.

"It was phenomenal and apart from that one mistake, he was brilliant.

"The plan was always to bring him here for his Christmas run and then take him back to Cheltenham to try to win the Queen Mother again.

"He had his prep race for that at Punchestown last year and I see no reason why we shouldn't go back for that again - if it's not broken, don't fix it.

"I wouldn't rule out going three miles again and that's maybe something we'll consider after Cheltenham where we will stick to two miles.

I suppose they are entitled to get excited, but he only did what most thought he would. The wonder was that his price was so big earlier on.
