Today's Fancy

I'll be having a bet on Baylini in the last at Ascot tomorrow. She's very consistent, wll like the ground, and if she can track the speed horse drawn right near her in stall 15 (Willow Dancer) I reckon she's got every chance at what are very decent odds. 6 wins in 70 starts not great and of them five on the all weather but still goes in tomorrow with a real outside chance imo. Here's hoping.

I'm obliged to take on Killultagh Queen (Ballinrobe 8.00) tomorrow. She looks a bit soft to be odds on in any race. Will have a look through the race and the prices in the morning.

Ballinrobe 8.00 - I'll take two e/w against the soft Killutagh Queen.

I'm a big fan of using hurdle ratings to work out beginner chases and Gusda was the best of the rest over hurdles but has failed to get off the mark in 6 attempts over fences. You have to excuse his last three runs but his form in his first three chases would be good enough to win today. I can't really find any excuse for his recent form but perhaps good ground will help him and 2m 6f certainly looks his optimum distance. At around 6/1 tomorrow I'd give him one last go.

The other is Nocturnal Knight who was 3rd in this race last year behind Warcraft and Some Target, form which stands out from anything the rest of the field can offer over fences. He's been laid off since but I would not be too bothered by that and taking a chance at likely odds of 14/1 that he is straight tomorrow.

Do you give Rickardstown much of a chance in that race Gearoid?

I could be wrong but thought the 2nd and 3rd from the last run looked pretty good yardsticks.

been told that the Fahey horse Miss Work Of Art is fancied to turn over the odds-on Hannon hotpot in 2:00 Ascot.

same source also mentioned mystic dream in the 2.30, said do it e/w

Hopefully this will change my useless record on this thread :ninja:

I passed him over on the basis he was only rated 98 over hurdles and looks to have a bit to find over fences too.

Congrats, good stuff..

I took the early 12/1 Cat Fire (Tipperary 7.55) tomorrow. Boylesports have priced up the race on the basis that Declan McDonagh does not ride her and they have not watched the video from her last run at Dundalk. Anyone who reads my posts will know that Sam James (5) is a massive positive riding near the top of the handicap and this horse was stopped three times last time out at Dundalk when finishing near last on the bridle. I'd make her a hard 6/1 shot at best. She is still blinding value at the revised 8/1.

Parker's Mill is the best backed horse of the day by some way at Tipperary (7:25) this evening. I mentioned him after Marksmanship's maiden as one of the ones to take out of the race - got a little of the 7/4 now 4/5 generally - the Stack team like him a lot.

If Balmont Mast wins the 5F maiden this evening I will blow my lid. There is not a drug that exists that would calm me down. They are backing the shite out of the whore again!!!

I like him a lot as well now OTB - Cheers

Speculative one tonight in the 8:00 at Dundalk. Sugar Baby Love at 25/1 has a proper chance in a very open handicap. Back down to a winning mark she goes well fresh and Patrick Martin's horses are running well. Drawn in 8 which is reasonable as she needs cover. She is a difficult filly to catch right and runs some shockers but at the prices its worth an interest.

Free Art gets beaten at odds on in the maiden - dont know by what but he will do everything he possibily can to find one to pass him.

Overall one of the poorer evenings at Dundalk.

Yes, for the last day but clearly she surprised them and that is what should be taken into account for today, not what some small group of Dundalk punters think. Could you not say the same of many O'Brien horses?

I thought she looked green but was given a poor ride.

Runs in 15 minutes. I think she'll win, and well.
