What are you backing Today? Part 2

Happy to chance First Street at Kempton. Sceau Royal has farmed this race in recent years but he's nearly 12 and last year's renewal was way worse than this. The Pumpkin horse is progressive I guess but he's been running off marks in the 130s whereas FS was off 152 in the County.

Hoping Sunway can bounce back and take the Criterium International (Group 1) in France today

Henry longfellows national stakes win looks better by the day after another good run by the second. I presume he will follow the st marks basilica route in France then the eclipse. Los Angeles did really well to get up. Could be a Derby contender but I'd wait till we see him maybe in the Chester vase on decent ground.

Dotties Star could be a good left field bet in the 5.20 at Windsor. The eye catching run was his penultimate start at Epsom. It was a five runner race on soft, where the first three home were all ridden prominently. Dotties Star was held up in last, but stayed on well when only beaten two and a half lengths. Racing Post comments in running say. "Held up in last, headway from over 1f out, flashed tail repeatedly but kept on inside final furlong."

The above quotation makes me think that stepping him up in trip now is the right thing to do, and soft going also looks ideal for Dotties Star. He placed on it first time out this season. Now he's dropped in class and further down the weights, I anticipate a better performance tomorrow.

Dotties ran well in second when trying to make all today. This was a big improvement and a career best to date.

It's about that time of year I start to look at jumps racing, well apart from a go at the Breeders Cup, but I stuck Dotties in my tracker after today.

They pulled four lengths clear of the third, and I'd be surprised if Dotties can't win a race or two sometime soon, or early next season.

LL certainly respected but I prefer Copperhead who ran well over a trip too short last time behind Sacre Coeur who won again yesterday

I’m breaking my rule about not backing Tizzard horses so probably done my money though [emoji2958]

Some nice types at Exeter today although I’m quite surprised ground is still good there? We had heavy rain here last night.

Gone for a couple:
King of the Lake 3.30 friend owns a part share but is hopeful more than confident but says step up in trip will help.
Caustic 5.05 love a flat bred/trained horse in a short juvenile bumper and this is nicely bred too.

Yeah, Copperhead kept on staring at me off the page, too.

Good luck, Vik.

That’ll teach me (again). Backing Tizzard horses is a fast way to the poor house

Two seconds....... Didn’t see first one but thought bumper one ran pretty well especially as it looked like the ground had turned.
