On the money with that Luke, just saw a little too much daylight from 14 but ran on well. Front 4 were well clear - moral for a maiden next season.

Wd on place lay also.

10/1 to7/2 at Leopardstown tells a story-I thought the draw crucified him-Gary O'Brien was very positive about him-will be interesting to see how they play it with him next year.

2.10 Bangor-Excellent Result @ 15-8 [William Hill]
3.45 Bangor-Blake Dean @ 5-2 [Boylesports]
4.15 Bangor-Royal Plaza @ 3-1 [Boylesports]

Our syndicate horse Cape Hideaway is running today 2.55 Catterick - he seems in good form and they may try a change of tactics today and see if he can make the running to bring his stamina into play. I have been matched at 9.8 and put an in running lay of 4.9 in the hope to get matched for a free bet.

Bangor 2:40. Looking to oppose Value at Risk. Should probably just lay it but that's not my style so I'll back the King horse against it.

2.50 - Nottingham - Torrid. 1 pt e/w. Available at 10/1.
Stanley did us a favour when winning over C/D last time out and he is likely to get very competitive again. He quickened off a decent pace and he is likely to get a similar scenario this afternoon. However, after returning from an eighteen month absence, in which he changed hands/stable, Torrid has hinted on a number of occasions that he may be better than he has been able to show. That has certainly been the case on his last two starts when weakening horses have blocked his path, preventing him from finishing closer than he eventually has. Both those efforts came from today's mark and they suggested that he's capable of exploiting it. He is reunited with Cam Hardie for the first time since the pair performed well in two big field June handicaps at York and Carlisle. Versatile regarding ground conditions, he is drawn wide, but is likely to be dropped in for a late run. His only previous run over this C/D resulted in his sole win to date.

3.50 - Nottingham - Song Light. 0.75 pts e/w. Available at 22/1.
Several of these come into this race in good form but it could be worth chancing Song Light at a big price. He was well beaten over eleven furlongs at Kempton last month but that came on the back of a nine month absence and it was probably badly needed. Prior to that he had performed very well in a Grade Three handicap Hurdle at Ascot last December and was a C/D winner earlier in the year from a two pound lower mark. That was his first start on the flat for his current yard and, although not as good on his second start, it was over two miles and in a significantly better race. He has tended to improve on his second start back from breaks of around two months or more so he could be seen in a better light here with his run last month behind him. The booking of an excellent three pound claimer won't do his chances any harm.

4.00 - Chelmsford - Boomerang Bob. 1.5 pts win. Available at 15/2.
A good sprint for the grade with only eight pounds separating the field on official ratings. We supported Boomerang Bob last time out at Haydock and, although finishing fifth of the fifteen runners, he was only beaten two and a half lengths. He was unlucky not to finish closer after finding room at a premium in the latter stages and it was his third good performance in succession. He should win more often than he does but he is the type that needs the gaps at the right time so is often a hostage to fortune. He is a good traveller and has proven himself on this track. He is now down to a career low mark and is running well enough to believe it's a mark from which he can win; he went close from a six pound higher mark here in June.

4.20 - Nottingham - Billyoakes. 1.5 pts e/w. Available at 8/1.

5.45 - Kempton - Pacific Salt. 1 pt e/w. Available at 12/1.

Great Sp for Whitchurch

I can't believe that price. He was on the short-list last night, had been backed in to 8/1 and I thought that was probably about right. It looked like a bit of a gamble from a yard that like to get involved. When it drifted I figured maybe today wasn't the day.

sometimes you get the U betting pattern..ie early doors those that know a horse is well back it..it drops in price..then joe soap looks at it and thinks..wtf?..so price goes back out,,basically teh informed money is already on with the drop down bit of the "U"

always worth watching for the U shaped horses..particularly from certain stables

Problem is when Betfair dictates the Sp market, it can become very volatile

Jockey of Whitchurch Bruce Lynn is great value in these amateur riders races

Correct EC, I agree. I'm still surprised it went off quite so big though. Looked on a decent mark...being wise after the event of course.

the U horses are worth studying just on their own imo..i haven't got time/inclination mesen but if someone studied all of them for 6 months and noted the trainers who did well..would make a nice method to follow

i hope no one takes this info and makes a service out of it:D
