Yesterday finished in profit with Hollywoodien winning and Ruacana placing at a big price. Spiritofthegames only found one too good. Henri Parry Morgan was a faller and Bon Enfant disappointed.

Today's Selections:

1.25 - Chepstow - Shantou Bob. 1.5 pts win. Available at 8/1.
The progressive Rolling Dylan heads the market and looks on a fair mark but this is a deep race and there are plenty in opposition with claims to similar potential. One of those is Shantou Bob who bids to give the favourite the best part of a stone. That looks a daunting task on paper but a mark of 137 is justified on the balance of his form over hurdles. He kept some good company in his first season over hurdles but was pulled up on his reappearance last year and wasn't seen again until turning up at Newbury last month. He was a good second there and the improving winner went very close yesterday from a seven pound higher mark. Shantou Bob runs from just one pound higher and, although now an eight year old, this is just his eighth start over hurdles. It may take fences to bring out the best in him but he has enough talent over the smaller obstacles to make his present felt at this level.

2.40 - Chepstow:
Onenightinvienna. 1 pt win. Available at 10/1.
Milansbar. 0.75 pts e/w. Available at 22/1. (Bet365 - 1/4 odds first 5)

The Welsh National and, although the ground is not as testing as it normally is at this time of year, it will still be a strong staying contest. Native River is a strong favourite and he may get his own way in front. If he does, he could get into a rhythm and prove hard to pass, even off topweight. However further down the weights both Onenightinvienna and Milansbar are preferred at bigger prices. Onenightinvienna was a goon Novice last season and he can be forgiven his final run of the campaign which came in the Grand National at Aintree. He reappeared in a two runner Graduation Chase at Carlisle over three miles at Carlisle and his rival is a decent horse who was in the process of running well when falling subsequently at Newcastle. He only made one mistake and looked a horse tailor made for marathon trips. Subsequent to that race all his form had been with cut in the grade but now he has shown good ground holds no fears it opens up new avenues. A mark of 146 looks very fair and probably underestimates his ability. Milansbar was beaten into fourth on his reappearance over this C/D but it was a perfectly respectable effort and he is likely to fitter for this race. He was a decent Novice last season and took his form to a new level once he went in to handicaps. He is closely weighted with Firebird Flyer on their Uttoxeter running in a Listed Handicap last March and he looks a horse who is likely to improve this season. The step back up in trip will suit and, although the ground may be quicker than ideal, he has handled ground as fast as good.

2.55 - Kempton:
William H Bonney. 1 pt win. Available at 11/1.
New Member. 1 pt win. Available at 14/1.

3.00 - Leopardstown:
Noble Endeavour. 1 pt e/w. Available at 14/1. (Betfair - 1/4 odds first 5)
Colms Dream. 0.75 pts e/w. Available at 20/1. (Betfred, Totesport - 1/4 odds first 5)

3.05 - Wetherby - Just Cameron. 2.5 pts win. Available at 9/2.

Good shout with Bob. :)

Thanks, good start. Close to a decent payout yesterday, hopefully today might just be the day.

Well done Ricko!

One of the outsiders will surely out run its odds in the Welsh Nash. I reckon it might be Royale Knight, 4th to Vicente in the Scottish National off 5 pound higher mark, I can see this fella running well. Very much a sporting selection though.

Yes 6th I think. Backed him with Bet365 5 places before I realised Skybet were going 6 [emoji35]

Considered Sky but he was 11s there.

Anyway, if Snow Falcon can win tomorrow I can come out ahead. Nap of the week.

Can't see any odds for Deauville, so I'm wondering if thats off.

Odds available for Deauville now, thanks goodness. Am sweet on Volunteer Point in the 1:35, though I reiterate, the last Mick Channon winner I upported was Queens Logic in 1997. ;) Roger Varians Realtra looks a dangerous opponent. A win single on Volunteer Point and R.forecast with Realtra for cover looks worth it.

Good luck PB. Just Georgie bet of the day for me. Didn't quite get the trip on heavy ground last time. Dropped another couple of pounds so expect better performance today.

Battleford/Let's Dance/Nichols Canyon treble for me

Yesterday was disappointing with no selections giving a return. Nachi Falls was reported to have had a breathing problem and Anonymous John suffered interference but none of the others had obvious excuses.

Today's Selections:

1.05 - Kelso - Jet Master. 1.5 pts e/w. Available at 8/1.
Black Ivory has won two of his three starts over hurdles and is open to further improvement on his second start in handicap company. He could be difficult to beat but he is facing some in-form experienced handicappers and it could be worth taking him on. Jet Master is into veteran status at almost eleven years old but he has been in good form over both hurdles and fences lately and he has plenty of decent efforts to his name at this venue. He won from today's mark at Perth in September of last year and his two most recent starts over fences weren't far short of his best in that discipline. That suggests he is in the kind of form to get competitive from his current position in the handicap. He represents a yard with a very profitable 17% strike rate over hurdles here in recent seasons.

1.40 - Kelso - Turtle Watch. 2.5 pts win. Available at 5/1. (Nb)
On his second start of the season Turtle Watch fell on his Chasing debut at Newcastle earlier this month. He had still to be asked a question and was travelling well within himself when coming down five out. He has to prove that his confidence hasn't been affected by that fall but if all his well he could take a big hand in this. He doesn't have the classic breeding of a Chaser but he was arguably the best of these over hurdles and he could have the potential to rate higher than a mark of 112 over the bigger obstacles. He is lightly raced for an eight year old and has shown a versatility toward ground conditions. The yard have a profitable 24% strike rate here over fences in recent seasons and they have been in good form this month.

2.40 - Doncaster - Ami Debois. 3 pts win. Available at 100/30 (Nap)

2.45 - Kelso - Coopers Friend. 1.5 pts win. Available at 13/2.
