What are you backing Today?

Probably my fault as I was on Baby Jake today as I tend to back the Hanlon horses when they come over here. I'm the kiss of death on everything betting wise at the moment.

Germany Calling may be some value at 9/1 in the 2.45 at Stratford. Listed company last time was clearly a git too much for him and he'll appreciate the drop in class. Presumably Charlie Longsdon will be desperate to win this race so a big run from this fella can be expected. He's never won off a mark this high so small stake only.

I am sick of watching top jockeys sitting 15 lengths of the pace and finishing 2nd at Kempton so thankfully Lingfield is on today.

I find the first race intriguing with Scandaleuse 2nd and Ghanimah 4th meeting for a second time.
They are backing the latter from 4/1 to 2/1 but if the Stoute filly leads and propels down the hill like I expect she'll win a minute

Olivers Hill is out tomorrow in the 2:45 at Stratford. I fear the odds might be prohibitive, so a reverse forecast with Starchitect looks the bet. I think these two should fight out the finish.
Olivers Hills out to 8/1.

.don't you just love the flat?
Nope. National Hunt has always been my main passion. Increasingly I can't tolerate the flat, in terms of forming any serious opinions.

Splash Of Ginge tomorrow at Wetherby. I really fancy this on the soft ground after a summer break. Not sure about what odds he's gonna be, whether to do win or each way, 7 runners declared.

Donald Mccains C&D winner Askamore Darsi looks to have a good chance in Sedgefields 2:35. He's shortening quite quickly from an opening the show of 7'/1, so worth backing him now if you fancy him . :) He could go off half that price, the way things are going.
Sorry for this. Didn't go to plan!

At 9/1, for my stakes I'll back him on the nose, although an each way bet is possible. Do the Racing Post do mid-week trainer comments? As I'd be interested in what Nigel Twiston Davies has to say.

Malay runs today for PN but I'm not so sure she should be odds on.

James Reveley rode her in France finishing 2nd to SA, then in her next race he got off Mayaya to ride SA expecting she would beat her again but Maya turned the form round and beat her.

SA ran a well beaten 4th next time out so I doubt if she is bombproof. In her only run for PN she looked a bit one paced to me.

That could be her undoing here and a horse who is anything but one paced is City Dreamer. Held up in last at Musselburgh if you backed him you may have wondered turning for home if he would catch the leader......When asked it was over in a flash he absolutely flew past the entire field and won by 9 lengths and the 3and 4th have both run well since. the 3rd won the 4th was just run out of it in a 12 horse race.

I really like this horse City Dreamer and if he's still there 2 out and travelling there will only be one winner 4/1 is ex value imo

Agree with that I couldn’t believe City Dreamer was as big as 4/1

I think the Gordon Elliott juggernaut will dominate The Maze this weekend.Away from that Lesley Dawn is highly rated by connections-named after Mr Potts sister in law-9/2 is a gift.

Was actually matched at 7.4 down to 5.1 for over 2k on the exchange and now 3.8 so to a nick a title from that famous 1939 Paul Muni movie "We Are Not Alone"

Both of the chief market rivals now easy to back

I like the look of Midnight Escape against Tombstone in the novice chase at DR. Form of his beginner's chase working out nicely.

I wasn't going to have a bet at Del Mar tonight (will tomorrow) but I can't help thinking Ryan has chosen the wrong one in the juvenile fillies.

September has the worst of the draw, and that's apparently what helped his decision but I'm confident she'll appreciate the better ground and extra 1f than Happily. The Yanks could be anything but they don't look world beaters so at 5/1 I'm more than happy to take 4 places, 1/5 odds September

I've had a look at the Sodexo tomorrow at Ascot, Junction Fourteen was second in this exact race last season off 147, now rated six pound less on 141, and his seasonal comeback run when he finished fourth was good. I like his profile. He must have a good chance.
